  1. Use the Zipline Extension Popup and Side Panel

    The popup and side panel provide quick access to Zipline features:

    • File Management: Drag and drop files to upload, view recent files, hover for image previews, delete files, edit passwords, or mark as favorites.
    • Quick Actions: Copy share links, download files, toggle previews, and change themes.
    • Navigation: Quick links to the Zipline server and options to pop out the popup or move it to the side panel.

  2. Zipline extension core features

    The extension provides the following capabilities:

    • Uploads: Drag-and-drop upload from popup/side panel, or right-click any image, video, or audio file on a webpage to upload it.
    • URL Shortening: Right-click any URL to create a new short URL.
    • Integration: Automatic authentication with Zipline servers and automatic Dark/Light mode based on browser settings.
    • Quick View: View recent uploads with auto-preview on mouseover.

  4. Manage keyboard shortcuts for Zipline

    You can configure browser-level keyboard shortcuts for the following extension actions:

    • Show Popup
    • Open Files
    • Open Side Panel
    • Open Zipline

    Refer to your specific browser's documentation to assign these keys.

  5. Connect the extension to a Zipline server

    To use the extension, you must have a Zipline v4 server setup. There are two ways to authenticate:

    1. Manual Setup: Open Extension Options (via Toolbar Icon > Settings, Right Click Menu > Settings, or Keyboard Shortcut) and enter your Zipline URL and Auth Token.
    2. Automatic Setup: Navigate to your Zipline Dashboard, open the extension popup, and click 'Authenticate with Current Site'.

    Note: Manual Setup is required for Zipline v4.4.1 or later.

  6. Configure Zipline extension options and settings

    The Options page allows you to manage credentials and customize the extension's behavior.

    Credentials:

    • Zipline URL
    • Zipline Token

    Input Settings:

    • Recent Files: Number of files to show in the popup/sidebar.
    • Popup Width: Width of the popup in pixels.
    • Preview Timeout: Timeout for the on-hover image preview.

    Behavioral Switches:

    • Show Preview on Popup: Enable image preview on hover.
    • Show File Icons in Popup: Toggle icons in the file list.
    • Show Zipline Links in Popup: Show links to files, upload, and settings.
    • Show SidePanel Button in Popup: Toggle the side panel button.
    • Show Confirmation on Delete: Require confirmation before deleting files.
    • Enable Context Menu: Enable right-click uploading (includes an option to 'Show Open Side Panel').
    • Show Release Notes on Update: Notify on new versions.
