What's inside Zebra Design

  1. Overview of Design Canvas Mac App

Design Canvas is a Mac application that provides an infinite canvas for software development, similar to Figma. It allows developers to see all app screens on one board with pan and zoom capabilities. Unlike design tools, the frames on the canvas are live code from a running dev server rather than static screenshots.
  2. Overview of Design Canvas for live code visualization

Design Canvas is a tool for macOS that connects to a running localhost development server to visualize all application screens on a single infinite canvas. It allows developers to pan, zoom, and inspect live code frames similarly to the Figma interface, providing a bird's-eye view of the entire project while it is running on a dev server.

  3. Overview of Design Sprint Workshop Types

Workshops are structured sessions used to eliminate friction and late-stage changes by involving decision-makers and domain experts in the design process upfront. There are three primary modular workshop types used depending on the project stage:
    TypeWhenDurationPurpose
Align Knowledge Experts and DesignSprint 1, Day 12.5 hoursSurface challenges (HMWs), define sprint questions, map user journey
Scope LockMid-sprint1 hourDemo working code, validate direction, freeze scope
FeedbackSprint 2+, Day 12.5 hoursReact to working code from previous sprint, set new priorities
  4. Overview of Internal Family Systems (IFS) model

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based psychotherapy model based on the premise that the mind is naturally multiple. Rather than a single personality, the 'self' is composed of various 'parts' that interact like a community. Each part has its own unique resources, power, and talent. Challenges arise when parts become dysfunctional or hidden due to trauma, external criticism, or unhealthy attachments to caregivers.
  5. Overview of the Zebra Sprint (Design Sprint 4.0)

The Zebra Sprint is an evolution of the design sprint methodology designed for the AI era. Unlike previous versions that focused on prototypes or Figma mocks, Design Sprint 4.0 focuses on shipping one critical user flow directly into the codebase within one week, then validating that code with real users. It is primarily designed for pre-seed to seed stage startups that require high-quality UX and product design without a dedicated in-house designer.
  6. Overview of Design Canvas Mac App

Design Canvas is a Mac application that provides an infinite canvas for code, similar to Figma. It takes a running development server and renders every screen of the app onto a single board, allowing developers to pan and zoom across live code frames rather than static screenshots. This enables a more visual and playful approach to building and reviewing software architecture and UI.
  7. Overview of the Zebra Sprint (Design Sprint 4.0)

The Zebra Sprint is a Design Sprint 4.0 methodology designed for pre-seed to seed stage startups. Unlike traditional design sprints that result in Figma prototypes, the Zebra Sprint focuses on shipping one critical user flow directly into the codebase within one week, followed by real-user validation.
  8. Overview of Design Sprint Workshop Types

Workshops are structured sessions used to create alignment, lock scope, and drive decisions. They are modular and selected based on the current stage of the project sprint.
    TypeWhenDurationPurpose
Align Knowledge Experts and Design WorkshopSprint 1, Day 12.5 hoursSurface challenges (HMWs), define sprint questions, map user journey
Scope Lock WorkshopMid-sprint1 hourDemo working code, validate direction, freeze scope
Feedback WorkshopSprint 2+, Day 12.5 hoursReact to working code from previous sprint, set new priorities
  9. Overview of Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based psychotherapy model based on the premise that the human mind is naturally multiple, consisting of various "parts" and a core "Self." Rather than viewing these multiple personalities as a disorder, IFS treats them as a system where each part has unique resources and talents. The goal of IFS therapy is to identify these parts, understand their roles, and work toward integration and healing, particularly for parts that have become dysfunctional due to trauma or external criticism.
  10. Understand Zebra Sprint deliverables and scope

A Zebra Sprint delivers a working, deployment-ready front-end using Next.js and React, rather than static design files. Each sprint focuses on one critical user flow to maximize impact on product-market fit.

    Typically Included:

    • Front-end application with mocked data/responses
    • Responsive design (desktop, tablet, mobile)
    • User testing with real users (recordings, AI transcripts, expert analysis)
    • Evidence-based iterations
    • Daily async video updates
    • Results presentation with recommendations

    Typically Excluded:

    • Brand or identity design
    • Backend development
    • Native mobile apps (unless specified)
    • Ongoing maintenance/support
    • Full redesigns across multiple flows (each flow requires a separate sprint)
    • Component libraries (unless specifically scoped)

  12. Planned Stripe Integration and Billing Address Requirements

The system currently uses manual bank transfers for payments. A Stripe integration is planned for the V3 architecture roadmap to handle online payments and automated billing. This will include Stripe Checkout for one-time sprint payments, support for a deposit + milestone payment structure (40% upfront, 30% milestone, 30% final), automatic receipt generation, and webhook handling for payment confirmation. Additionally, the billing address will be transitioned from an optional field to a required field to ensure VAT compliance for formal invoicing in the EU.
