What's inside SC Navigator

  1. Overview of Count Constraints in SC Navigator

Count Constraints allow users to enforce minimum or maximum limits on the number of open entities (locations, suppliers, etc.) within specific groups. These constraints are exclusively available in the Network Design Advanced and Sustainability and Risk modules. When defining groups for these constraints, curly bracket notation (e.g., {Location Group}) must be used.
  2. Overview of SC Navigator Inventory Planning

Inventory Planning is a module within SC Navigator used to calculate required inventory levels to meet desired service levels and provide visibility into actual stock status. It can be used for general inventory planning as well as calculating requirements for spares or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory.

It integrates with other SC Navigator modules as follows:

    • Network Design: Output from Network Design can be used as input to analyze how a designed network affects inventory levels.
    • Demand Forecasting: Output from Demand Forecasting is used to plan safety stock levels.
    • S&OP Navigator: Inventory Planning results can be used as input for S&OP Navigator.
  3. Overview of Data Navigator in SC Navigator

Data Navigator is a component of the SC Navigator platform used to configure data templates and import data in the required format. This ensures that data is properly structured before running calculations in other applications within the platform.
  4. Overview of the Transport Navigator Module

Transport Navigator is a tactical planning module within the SC Navigator platform used to design efficient, reliable, and cost-effective fixed-route transportation plans. It is specifically designed to determine how transportation should be structured to support a supply chain network, focusing on designing fixed transport routes and calculating the optimal fleet size. It balances delivery performance, vehicle capacity, and cost efficiency to ensure plans are operationally feasible and aligned with strategic goals.
  5. Overview of the SC Navigator ETL Module

The SC Navigator ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) module automates the process of collecting, transforming, and loading data into the application. It provides users with a dedicated Azure Data Factory (ADF) instance deployed in a separate Azure environment. This instance includes a pre-configured REST API connection to the user's specific AIMMS Cloud, ensuring data isolation from other customers.
  6. Overview of AIMMS SC Navigator

AIMMS SC Navigator™ is a cloud-based software suite designed for supply chain professionals. It provides a set of configurable Apps that allow users to uncover opportunities, answer supply chain questions, and accelerate mission-critical decision-making by configuring targeted applications for specific business problems.
  7. Overview of the SC Navigator Whiteboard

The Whiteboard is an interactive canvas used to visually map a supply chain network. Users can add and connect nodes (Suppliers, Production, Warehouses, and Customers) and define parameters such as capacity, costs, and demand. The primary purpose of the Whiteboard is to convert a visual network design into a fully populated, optimization-ready Excel template that can be fed into the SC Navigator main optimization model.
  8. Overview of Scenario Comparison in Inventory Planning

In Phase 3 of Inventory Planning, users can compare one or more scenarios against each other and against actual stock levels. This process is used to analyze the impact of a scenario on inventory levels and identify discrepancies (excess or shortage) relative to desired service levels.
  9. Overview of Roundtrip Functionality in SC Navigator

Roundtrip functionality allows transport lanes to form a closed loop (e.g., a truck traveling from West Location to East Location and returning to West Location). This feature is exclusively available in the Network Design Advanced and the Sustainability and Risk modules.
  10. Overview of SENSAI Pro capabilities

SENSAI Pro is a natural language interface for SC Navigator that enables users to execute actions directly via chat. Key capabilities include:

    • Warehouse Management: Creating locations and warehouses, updating attributes, and retrieving warehouse information.
    • Transport Management: Updating transport costs/attributes, enabling/disabling lanes, and querying lane information.
    • Optimization: Running optimization models and demand scenarios (e.g., +/- 5%, 10%) with automatic result saving.
    • Scenario Comparison: Comparing multiple scenarios using global KPIs, warehouse usage, and result data.
    • Change Management: Real-time feedback, error handling, and the ability to undo data changes or list all session modifications.
  11. Overview of AIMMS AI Systems

AIMMS AI Systems are AI and Large Language Model (LLM) powered features integrated into AIMMS SaaS products to help users explain functionality, answer questions, and execute actions. These systems are identified in the interface as follows:

    • SENSAI and SENSAI PRO: Found in SC Navigator.
    • AI Companion: Found in Optimization Tooling.

These systems provide suggestions and perform actions only when explicitly instructed and do not make autonomous decisions; users maintain full control.

  12. Overview of Risk Analysis functionality

Risk Analysis is available in the Sustainability and Risk Module. It automatically simulates the closure of each facility (one at a time) to quantify risk. The results are plotted on a matrix where the X-axis represents the likelihood of occurrence (input data) and the Y-axis represents the consequence (outcome), measured by increased costs or lost revenue percentage.
