Playrunner

Playrunner is a visual workflow orchestration platform designed for Playwright test suites. It manages when and where tests run, how suites are divided across runners, workflow branching, triggers, and result routing using a drag-and-drop canvas. It does not replace the Playwright framework; existing test suites and configurations remain unchanged, while the orchestration layer is moved from code (pipeline YAML) to the visual canvas.

Playrunner uses a graph-based execution flow where connection nodes determine the order of operations based on edge types: on success, on failure, sequential, concurrent, or independent. Execution is handled via local Docker runners or GCP Cloud Run.

Playrunner can be deployed and run in three primary ways: via the managed cloud beta, using local Docker, or within a custom GCP project. The source is available under the Playrunner Sustainable Use License, which allows for free running, modification, and self-hosting for internal use.

Playrunner provides an 'Auto' sharding mode that automatically discovers the test suite, sizes the execution plan based on runner capacity, and merges all shards into a single consolidated report.
