Minecraft Server Launcher (MSL)
website·Indexed 31 days ago
https://www.mslmc.cn/A simplified Minecraft server launcher designed to help users easily set up and manage MC servers. The documentation covers server instance creation, NeoForge/Forge installation, server backup, and networking configurations including STUN tunnels, Frp internal network penetration, and P2P connectivity. It also includes details on MSL Skin, server mirror sources, and development logs for MSLX.
What's inside MSL
- The STUN Tunnel allows devices in a NAT1 Full Cone network environment to 'borrow' a port from the public exit IP to achieve intranet penetration. Unlike peer-to-peer networking, only the server host needs to start the tunnel service to provide a public direct connection address for players. This feature is available in MSL version v3.7.5.2 and later. Note that this is an experimental feature with no stability guarantee, and public IPs/ports may change frequently.
Overview of MSL Minecraft Server Launcher
MSL is an open-source desktop management tool for Minecraft servers on Windows. It simplifies the process of creating and managing servers through a visual interface and provides several key features: one-click deployment of server cores, a high-speed mirror for downloading server software, and built-in networking options for multiplayer access.Overview of MSL Skin authentication and skin service
MSL Skin is a Minecraft skin site based on Blessing Skin that provides skin and authentication (Yggdrasil API) services for multiplayer gaming. It integrates with the MSL User System, allowing users to log in with a unified MSL account. Key benefits include: eliminating the need for in-game/logincommands after launcher login, providing a skin system without additional patches, and preventing username spoofing or bot attacks through account control.MSL Server Mirror API Overview
The MSL Server Mirror API (V4) provides access to a synchronized system of Minecraft server cores. It uses a global acceleration CDN and implements rate limits based on region: 20 QPS for Mainland China and 100 QPS for overseas (including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan). All requests must include a User-Agent containing the application name.
Integration Requirements:
- Software integrating this API must state '本服务由MSL开服器提供' (This service is provided by MSL Server Starter) and include the MSL logo and official website link.
- High-volume users must apply via email to
support@mslmc.netproviding their application's User-Agent.

MSLX v0.1.1-alpha introduces several management features for server administration, including a scheduled tasks system, a dedicated page for managing mods and plugins, and a visual editor for server configuration files. Additionally, the file management interface now supports the creation of new folders, and the home page announcement system has been updated to use independent MSLX announcement content.Manage MSLX server instance settings
MSLX provides a server instance settings interface designed based on the MSL server runtime window logic. Note that certain features, such as backups and external login, are currently unimplemented.MSLX Project Overview
MSLX is a next-generation Minecraft server deployment tool developed by MSLTeam. It is built on .NET Core 8.0 and features a decoupled frontend-backend architecture. The tool is designed for cross-platform compatibility (Windows, macOS, and Linux) and includes remote access capabilities for server management. It provides two frontend options: a web-based control console and a cross-platform desktop client.Install and deploy Minecraft server cores using MSL
MSL provides a built-in high-speed mirror for rapid deployment of various Minecraft server cores. It supports mainstream plugin cores such as Vanilla, Paper, and Spigot, as well as Mod cores including Forge, Fabric, and NeoForge. Starting from version V3.7.4.8, MSL also supports the one-click deployment of Bedrock Edition (BDS) servers.Configure external authentication for MSL servers
To enable external authentication in MSL (supported from v3.7.0.4 onwards), you must provide the full verification API address from your authentication provider in the MSL server settings.
Critical Requirements:
- Full URL: You must enter the complete API address, not just the domain name.
- Online Mode: You must keep the original 'Online Mode' (正版验证) enabled in your server settings for external authentication to function.
- Consistency: All players must use the same external authentication service to join the server; otherwise, they will be unable to connect.
MSL automatically handles the downloading and embedding of the latest
authlib-injectorinto the server runtime, so no manual installation of the injector is required.Manage files in the MSLX File Manager
The MSLX File Manager now includes built-in functionality to copy and move files.Host a Minecraft P2P multiplayer session
To host a P2P session, the host must open their world to LAN and configure the P2P tool with the resulting port. Note that P2P may not penetrate all NAT types; if it fails, use the 'Internal Network Mapping' (内网映射) feature. Additionally, due to Minecraft restrictions, this may only work for official (premium) accounts unless specific mods are used for offline users.
Steps:
- (Optional) Install a mod like 'mcwifipnp' (LAN World Plug-n-Play) to fix the port or disable premium authentication.
- Start Minecraft and enter a single-player world.
- Open the game menu (ESC) and select 'Open to LAN' (对局域网络开放).
- Configure the LAN settings and confirm.
- Note the port number displayed in the bottom-left corner of the game screen.
- In the P2P tool, enter the following:
- Port: The port number from the game.
- QQ Number (Room ID): Your own QQ number.
- Key: A password for other players to join.
- Click 'Open Room' (开启房间) to allow others to join.
Choose a Bedrock Edition server
For the Bedrock (cross-platform) version of Minecraft:
Recommended:
- BDS Official: The official Bedrock Dedicated Server.
- BDS Official + LiteLoader: Official server combined with an external plugin loader (preferred if version is supported).
- Geyser: Use Geyser to bridge Bedrock players into a Java Edition server to leverage Java's features.
Not Recommended:
- Nukkit: Supports plugins but loses many vanilla game features.
