What's inside Kore CMS
- Kore is a lightweight, modular content management system (CMS) designed for simplicity and speed. It is intended for a wide range of use cases, from small internal projects and simple information sites to larger public-facing platforms and growing knowledge bases. Its architecture focuses on a compact footprint to ensure faster deployment and lower maintenance overhead compared to larger CMS platforms.
Create and configure Kore CMS templates
Kore CMS templates are standard website pages constructed with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They define how information is presented on a page and determine which forms appear in the control section for content entry. Templates can be assigned to a single page or shared across multiple pages. Child pages (pages nested under a parent/umbrella page) typically have their own associated templates saved under the parent page's information.Set up the Kore CMS database
Before running the installer, you must create a new database and a corresponding user with full privileges to that database. Once the database is created, use PHPMyAdmin to import thekore-db.sqlfile provided with the CMS to initialize the required tables and fields.Organize content with Child Pages
Child pages exist underneath a parent page (e.g., individual blog posts under a 'blog' parent page).
Adding Child Pages:
- Ensure the parent page is configured as a parent with a valid Child Template.
- Click the add child page icon in Page Control.
- Define the name, description, security level, and visibility.
- Click 'Add New Child Page'.
Constraints:
- Child pages cannot be added directly to the main navigation. To display them, add the parent page to the navigation or use the
itemlisttag to list child pages on a template.
Perform a full site backup using Backup All
The 'Backup All' feature creates a comprehensive archive of the site. Enter a filename (without extension), and the system will:
- Zip the general site contents into one folder.
- Create a separate folder for template files and zip them.
- Zip both resulting archives together into a single final zip file.
- Append the current date to the filename and trigger an automatic download.
Edit page content using Code Mode
Code Mode allows for fine-grained control over HTML, enabling the use of inline styling (e.g., Bootstrap classes) and advanced HTML objects like accordions. Toggling Code Mode turns the editor background black and disables the standard styling icons. This mode should only be used by users proficient in HTML to avoid issues with styling, visibility, and SEO.Download and install Kore CMS
