What's inside MentorKit LMS
- Completion Requirements in MentorKit determine the criteria for when a course is marked as completed and how individual pages are tracked during delivery. These settings directly influence learner progress tracking and the navigation behavior within the course.
Overview of MentorKit Export and Publish features
MentorKit provides two primary methods for distributing courses outside of the editor: Export and Publish.
- Export: Generates a downloadable package of the course in either SCORM 1.2 or HTML format for manual distribution.
- Publish: Pushes the course content directly to a connected Learning Management System (LMS) integration, allowing for updates without manual file uploads.
Deactivate a course in MentorKit Classic
To deactivate a course, navigate to the Course section in the main menu to view the school's course overview. Locate the course in the list and click the symbol in the 'Active' column on the right, then select 'Disable'. The course will then be moved to the list of Inactive courses at the bottom of the page. You can toggle the visibility of these courses using the 'deactivated courses' symbol.
Constraints and Caveats:
- This procedure only works for the 'production school'. Courses shared from another school cannot be disabled using this method.
- Deactivating a course does not delete participant data or course history.
Navigate to the MentorKit LMS main screen
To access the MentorKit LMS management area, log into your WordPress admin dashboard and click on the 'Mentorkit LMS' menu link. This screen provides an overview of all published courses.Use the Media Library Image Editor
The image editor in the media library allows you to edit images or graphics before adding them to a page container. The editor supports the following file formats: jpg, jpeg, webp, svg, png, avif, jfif, bmp, and gif.Manage course assets using the Media Library
The Media Library serves as a centralized repository to store, organize, and edit assets used across courses. It supports uploading and reusing images, audio, and video files to ensure media consistency across the platform. The library is accessible at any time via the media library icon located on the navigation bar.Understand the MentorKit Classic menu system layout
The MentorKit Classic user interface organizes navigation and actions into five primary areas:
- Main Menu: Located at the top; available options depend on the user's assigned role.
- Table of Contents: A row-based overview of entities (e.g., classes, users). Clicking a row opens a pop-up menu of available functions.
- Functions Menu: A set of commonly used functions located above the table, featuring symbols with hover-over explanations.
- In-Table Functions: Direct action links (such as editing and reports) embedded within the table rows.
- Exit: A control to close the administration window or browser tab.
Manage Mentorkit page layouts and structure
Mentorkit pages support flexible layouts allowing a mix of media-rich columns, full-width videos, or stacked text. Courses are structured hierarchically, meaning every page can have subpages to facilitate a traditional chapter-based workflow. Each page can be assigned a name and a descriptive note to track its purpose or planned content.Generate and analyze user progress reports per class
The 'Report results per class' feature provides an overview of user activity and performance. Depending on the course structure, the report tracks scores, points, the number of pages or sections visited, completion status (completed vs. not completed), time spent, and completion dates. If a 'random test' is included in the course, the report will include a specific column for those test results. Users can be filtered by sorting columns, marked, and emailed directly from the report. To ensure the report functions correctly, passing requirements must be configured under the 'Edit course' settings.Understand MentorKit Enterprise report availability and scoping
MentorKit Enterprise provides a set of reports that can be accessed at different organizational levels. The available scoping levels for reports are: School (S), Class (CL), Course (CO), and User (U). Access to specific reports is determined by the user's role within the system.Understand MentorKit Classic Admin interface navigation
The MentorKit Classic Admin interface consists of several navigation layers. Available functionality is determined by the user's role (e.g., Administrator, Coach, Instructor, Teacher, Test Leader, Developer), with Administrators having access to all features.
Key interface components include:
- Main Menu (Top): Always available; provides access to Users, Courses, Classes, Reports, and the system exit.
- Pop-up Menu: Appears when clicking on a specific item (such as a class) to provide context-specific options for the current tab.
- Symbol Menu: Contains options that vary dynamically based on the user's permissions, the specific course or class selected, and the current page.
- Quick Action Table: A table on the right side of the interface containing frequently used options.
- Exit Icon: Located in the upper-right corner to log out of the management system.
Track user activity and time spent in MentorKit
MentorKit provides several reports to track time and activity across different scopes:
- Time spend on course: Provides an overview of activity for a specific period. It supports date range filtering (from-to) and can be sorted by class or course.
- Total time spent: Provides an overview of total 'logged in' time. Note: This value will always be higher than the time registered specifically within course usage.
- Total time required on class: Shows time consumption and activity for all classes/groups at a school. This is limited by date and reflects logged time rather than specific course time.
