https://guide.phicus.es/Documentation for Krill, a network management platform featuring modules for monitoring, Radius, PBX, and ISP customer management. It includes tools for host and CPE monitoring, TR069 session tracking via CWMP tables, network topological mapping, and a REST API v2. The system also provides an ISP CLI for managing devices, PTPs, and locations, as well as a Rubik module for Bitstream management.
What's inside Krill
- The Radius module in Krill provides management tools for PPPoE sessions and IP address pool monitoring. It consists of two primary functional areas: Sessions, which tracks active and duplicated PPPoE sessions, and IP Pools, which provides availability statistics for IP address pools.
Overview of Krill Network Monitoring Module
The Krill Monitoring module provides centralized visibility into network monitorization, containing detailed information regarding all hosts and their associated services. The module includes specialized tools for tracking alarms, problems, host groups, and network topology via the WorldMap and Smart Tree views.Monitor Radius IP Pool utilization and statistics
The Radius IP Pools view provides real-time statistics on IP addresses used by the Radius service, covering private, public, and NAT IPs. The view tracks metrics by host, including granted IPs and free IPs. Users can sort data by Framed IP, NAS, Username, Expiry Time, DeviceID, and Pool Name. Additionally, the system triggers alarms based on the percentage of free IPs available within each pool to notify administrators of capacity issues.Manage CPE administrative and location info
The Administrative Info Tab is used to group topology and localization data:
- Topology: Details about the connected CTO or other network management info.
- External ID: The device's external identifier.
- Dirección: Country, city, neighborhood, postal code, and street address.
- Latitude y Longitude: Geographic coordinates for map positioning.
- Notes: General comments to identify or mark the equipment.
Visualize network device health using the Worldmap view
The Worldmap view provides a geographical representation of network devices. Devices are color-coded based on their current condition: green indicates a healthy state, and red indicates a problem. By default, the main search filters for devices with a 'Business Impact' greater than 2 to highlight core network infrastructure.Monitor unprovisioned ONUs in the network
The Unprovisioned Onus view allows administrators to identify and manage pending provision ONUs across the network's OLTs. The interface groups ONTs by their respective OLT and provides critical identification details including the Frame/Slot/Port, the Serial Number (SN), and the device model. The Serial Number can be copied with a single click for ease of provisioning.Manage and filter Rubik trouble tickets
The Rubik trouble ticket system provides a centralized panel to track service issues. Tickets are ordered by the date of the last update by default. Users can filter, sort, or export tickets based on the following fields: ID, Customer, Address, Owner, State, Priority, Type, Symptom, Created at, and Last Update.Use the Matrix monitoring tool to view device and service metrics
Matrix provides a centralized list of devices and services to monitor registered metrics and administrative host information. Users can perform searches to retrieve specific hosts or services. The interface displays different column groups automatically based on whether the result is a host or a service.
Basic columns include:
- Host/Servicio
- Date of the last change
- Down/Up bandwidth (Hosts only)
- IP Address (Hosts only)
For Hosts, the 'Administrative' and 'Registering' column groups provide detailed data including OLT/CMTS registration, Serial Number, MAC address, upstream/downstream profiles, hardware models, and customer information.
View and filter PBX Call Detail Records (CDRs) in Krill
The PBX CDRs section provides a log of all incoming and outgoing calls from the telephony service integrated into Krill. Users can filter these call records using the following parameters: outgoing number, incoming number, call output (e.g., answered, busy, failed), date range, and specific CPEs (Customer Premises Equipment).Manage Bitstream operations using the Rubik module
The Rubik module in Krill is the central hub for managing all Bitstream-related activities. It provides two primary functional areas: Services (for main operator interactions) and Trouble Tickets (for incident management with supporting main operators). The main dashboard provides summaries of recently generated services and tickets with support for header-based sorting, filtering by owner, and filtering by service or ticket condition.Track host and service condition changes in Monitoring History
The Monitoring History page provides a historical register of condition changes for hosts and network services, as well as a log of notifications sent to configured channels such as Slack, email, and mobile. Users can switch between viewing condition change history and sent notifications using the selector at the top of the page.Visualize network topology using Smart Tree
The Smart Tree view provides a topological map of the network. By configuring Krill's dependencies, devices are displayed with their parents to visualize connectivity. The view allows users to:
- See links between devices and their current condition.
- Click on a specific device to view its network path, the next hop, and a summary of its services' condition.
- Toggle between two visualization modes: 'network's elements' and 'topological network' using the icons located at the top left of the view.
