Auto Clicker - AutoFill Documentation
website·Indexed 32 days ago
https://getautoclicker.comDocumentation for Auto Clicker - AutoFill v5.x, featuring guides on creating automations using steps, targets, and values. Includes details on element finding via XPath, userscripts (added in v4.0.47), and various step-value actions such as keyboard/mouse events, Google Sheets integration, AI, and captcha handling.
What's inside Auto Clicker - AutoFill
- Userscripts allow you to run custom JavaScript as a first-class Step within the automation loop. They can replace standard step configurations (Name, Init Wait, Repeat, and Repeat Interval) with code-driven logic and run in sequence with regular steps. To use Userscripts, you must first enable the 'Userscript' switch in the extension's details page.
Overview of AutoClicker automation features
AutoClicker (v5.0.0) is a task automation solution that allows users to record and playback mouse and keyboard interactions. Key capabilities include:
- Autofill: Supports all HTML input types (checkbox, color, date, email, hidden, number, password, radio, range, search, text, time), textareas, select/option fields, and content-editable elements.
- Data Integration: Ability to fill data from Google Sheets and sync automations via Google Drive.
- Control Flow: Support for repeating steps, scheduling automations for specific times, and implementing 'Page Guard' conditions based on element text or values.
- Error Handling: Automatic retries for failed steps and notifications via Chrome or Discord upon step completion or failure.
- Data Management: Import and export of automation data using JSON files and access to a public library of automations.
Understand Automation components
An automation is the top-level unit in the system. It combines a target URL with a sequence of steps and optional behavioral rules. Key components include:
- Steps: The actual actions to be performed on the page.
- Loop: Rules to repeat the automation or refresh the page after completion.
- Monitor: Settings to re-run steps when new content is added to dynamic pages.
- Publish: Metadata management for cloud discovery and importing.
- Settings: Configuration for run mode, URL matching, and page load timing.
- Schedule: Date and time configurations for automatic execution.
Add page elements as context for AI questions
When asking questions about specific page elements (e.g., "what's the Element Finder for this button?"), you can attach the element directly to the prompt instead of describing it. Only the selected elements are sent to the AI, not the entire page.
Steps to add context:
- Click
Select elementsabove the question box. - Hover over the page and click the desired element(s) to attach them as chips in the sidebar.
- To stop selecting, click
Select elementsagain or press theEsckey. - You can remove any attached element by clicking the close button on its chip before sending the question.
Note: Answers are most accurate when elements have stable IDs, names, or visible text. Elements with framework-generated IDs/classes may result in positional selectors.

Use the Ask AI assistant in Auto Clicker Auto Fill
Ask AI is a free, chat-style Q&A assistant integrated into the Side Panel (introduced in v5.0.0). It allows users to ask questions about the extension in plain language and receive sourced answers. To use this feature, you must be signed in to the extension. There are no usage limits for this tool.Understand Step components and configuration
A step is the fundamental unit of automation, combining a Target and a Value.
- Target: Locates the element on the page using strategies like XPath or position-based finders.
- Value: Defines the action to perform (e.g., click, fill, extract, or trigger commands). If left blank, the default action is to click.
Steps are edited inline within the automation screen. If a target is not found, the extension follows the retry settings defined in Global Settings or Step Settings, then executes a fallback action (e.g., Stop Automation, Skip This Step, Refresh & Retry, or Go to Step).
Monitor automation progress using the Status Bar and Chrome Action badge
The extension provides two primary ways to track the execution state of an automation: an in-page status bar and the Chrome Action badge (extension icon). These indicators provide real-time feedback on loop/step counts, countdown timers for waits, retry attempts, and final completion or error states.
In-page Status Bar Indicators:
- Progress: Displays
LOOP {current}/{total}andSTEP {current}/{total}during execution. - Countdowns: Shows timers for automation waits, step delays, loop repeats, and retries (e.g.,
⏳ 5s ▶️ Automation). - Warnings: Displays messages like
⚠️ Element not foundor⚠️ Page Guard condition not metduring retry/recheck phases. - Final State: Displays
Doneupon success or the specific error message upon failure.
Chrome Action Badge Indicators:
- Initialization:
⚡indicates setup is in progress. - Wait Timers:
▶️⏳(Init Wait),📦⏳(Loop wait), and🔁⏳(Step delay) show remaining time. - Retries/Guards:
🔎⏳indicates element search retries;✅⏳indicates Page Guard rechecks. - Outcome:
❌indicates an error;✅indicates successful completion.
- Progress: Displays
Understand Auto Clicker - AutoFill data storage and security
Auto Clicker - AutoFill stores all functional data on the user's local hard drive. It does not collect personal data or browsing history. Note that locally saved data is not encrypted and is accessible to anyone with physical access to the device.Reorder automations to manage execution priority
When multiple automations match the same URL, the automation positioned highest in the list takes priority and runs first. To change the execution order, use the Reorder feature from the My Automations screen: drag and drop items to adjust their sequence, then click Save to apply the changes or Close to discard them.Get started with Auto Clicker – Auto Fill
Auto Clicker – Auto Fill allows you to automate clicks and form fills on any website by creating automations consisting of steps. To begin:
- Install the extension in Chrome or Edge.
- Navigate to the target website you wish to automate.
- Open the options page at https://stable.getautoclicker.com.
- Create a new automation by specifying the target URL and adding one or more steps, each containing a Target (the element to interact with) and a Value (the data to input or action to take).
- Save the automation and either refresh the target page or trigger it via a hotkey if using Manual mode.
Import automations from a JSON file
You can import one or more automations into your list using a JSON file. The importer automatically detects whether the file contains a single automation (single-object JSON) or multiple automations (array JSON). Imported automations are added to your existing list; however, because imports merge on top of existing data, duplicates may occur if the same automation is already present. It is recommended to keep a backup of your current automation list before performing large imports.// Example of a single automation object { "name": "My Automation", "steps": [...] } // Example of multiple automations array [ { "name": "Automation 1", "steps": [...] }, { "name": "Automation 2", "steps": [...] } ]Generate random values for form fields
Use the<random...>syntax to generate random strings that match a specific regular expression pattern. This is typically used in the 'Value' field of an action to fill form fields with dynamic data. A pattern is required inside the brackets; a bare<random>tag without a pattern will be treated as literal text and left unchanged.<random[a-z]{6}> // Generates 6 random lowercase letters <random[A-Z]{6}> // Generates 6 random uppercase letters <random[a-z]{6,12}> // Generates between 6 and 12 random lowercase letters <random[\d]{6}> // Generates 6 random digits <random[\w]{6}> // Generates 6 random word characters <random[custom]{6}> // Generates 6 characters from the set 'custom'
