What's inside Tributech

  1. Overview of the Tributech Platform architecture

The Tributech Platform is a secure data integration solution available as SaaS or PaaS. It is designed to protect data against tampering and hijacking across IT systems, OT infrastructure, and IoT gateways/devices.

    Core components include:

    • Tributech Sources & Agents: Used to collect customer data and securely transmit it from Edge Devices to the Node.
    • Tributech Node: Persists collected data and ensures integrity and authenticity throughout the data lifecycle.
    • Tributech Web UI: Used for inspecting and reviewing collected data.
    • Integration Interfaces: Authenticated customer applications can access Node data and functionality via a REST API or receive notifications via Webhooks.
  2. Overview of the Tributech C SDK Plugin System

The Tributech C SDK uses a plugin-based architecture to achieve portability and hardware abstraction. All platform-specific functionality is encapsulated in plugins, which are implemented as C structs containing function pointers. The SDK core remains platform-agnostic, but it cannot function without all mandatory plugins being implemented for the target platform.
  3. Overview of Tributech Agent supported data sources

The Tributech Agent supports several built-in integration sources for external data: MQTT, OPC-UA, Beckhoff ADS, Simulated Sensors (for random test data), and REST (HTTP APIs). Sources are added via the Agent configuration or by importing Twin Models.
  4. Overview of Tributech Agents

Tributech Agents secure data collected from officially supported Tributech Sources or custom sources. They establish a secure bidirectional communication channel between the Tributech Node platform and the Agent, allowing for the secure gathering of data points and proofs, as well as the ability to issue commands back to the connected environment.
  5. Overview of Tributech Node MCP Server

The Tributech Node provides a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows AI assistants and MCP-capable tools to interact with Node operations (such as managing agents, reading stream data, and configuring Digital Twins) using natural language. This is currently an opt-in Beta feature and must be enabled by the Tributech team upon request.
  6. Overview of Tributech Modbus Source

The Tributech Modbus Source acts as a Modbus TCP client within a Docker environment. It connects to Modbus TCP devices or serial slaves behind TCP-to-serial gateways to read coils and registers and forward data to a Tributech Agent stream.

    Key capabilities:

    • Supports up to 50 Modbus devices per Source.
    • Periodically reads configured coils/registers and forwards values to the Agent.
    • Writes and maintains values configured as parameters on the device.
    • Reports health status for every device and configured address to the Tributech Node.
    • Supports on-demand writes via the WriteOnce Command.

Requirements: Requires Tributech platform 5.6 or later and Modbus Source version 0.2.0 (beta).

  7. Overview of Tributech REST Source

The Tributech REST Source allows integration of external data sources via REST. It receives data and sends it to the Tributech Agent via MQTT. The source supports two data formats:

    1. REST Stream: Data contains the DataStreamId of the Twin Configuration within the payload.
    2. REST Pre-defined Payload: Data uses a unique combination of MachineId and SensorId to identify the DataStreamId of the Twin Configuration.

A status code 200 OK indicates that data was successfully received and queued for publication to the Tributech Agent, but does not guarantee final delivery to the Tributech Node.

  8. Overview of the Tributech C SDK

The Tributech C SDK (v5.0.0) is a portable, modular software development kit designed for secure, scalable, and interoperable IoT solutions on resource-constrained embedded devices. It abstracts hardware and RTOS differences to provide a standardized method for collecting, notarizing, and transmitting data, ensuring data integrity and authenticity from the point of origin. Key capabilities include secure device identity, certificate management, and remote configuration.
  9. Overview of the Tributech C SDK Plugin System

The Tributech C SDK uses a plugin-based architecture to achieve portability and hardware abstraction. All platform-specific functionality is encapsulated in plugins, which are implemented as C structs containing function pointers. The SDK core remains platform-agnostic, but it cannot function without all mandatory plugins being implemented for the target hardware.
  10. Overview of the Tributech Platform

The Tributech Platform (v5.0.0) is a secure data integration solution designed to protect data against tampering and hijacking while maintaining interoperability. It is available as both SaaS and PaaS and supports integration across IT systems, OT infrastructure, and IoT gateways/devices.

    Key architectural components include:

    • Tributech Sources & Agents: Used to collect customer data and securely transmit it from Edge Devices to the Node.
    • Tributech Node: Persists collected data and ensures integrity and authenticity throughout the data lifecycle.
    • Tributech Web UI: Used for inspecting and reviewing collected data.
    • Integration Interfaces: Authenticated customer applications can access Node data and functionality via a REST API or receive event notifications via Webhooks.
  11. Overview of Tributech Node MCP Server

The Tributech Node provides a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows AI assistants and MCP-capable tools to interact with the Node using natural language. This server exposes Node operations—such as managing agents, reading stream data and proofs, and configuring the Digital Twin—as standardized MCP tools.

Note: The MCP Server is currently an opt-in Beta feature and must be enabled by the Tributech team before it can be accessed.

  12. Overview of Tributech C SDK capabilities

The Tributech C SDK (v5.4.0) is a portable, modular software development kit designed for resource-constrained embedded devices. It provides a standardized framework to collect, notarize, and transmit data, ensuring integrity and authenticity from the point of origin. The SDK abstracts hardware and RTOS differences, allowing developers to implement secure device identity, certificate management, and remote configuration across various microcontroller-based applications.
