Tessonics RSWA and RIWA Documentation
website·Indexed 32 days ago
https://docs.tessonics.comDocumentation for Tessonics software suites, including RSWA v4 and RIWA. Covers the Tessonics Data Service (TDS) for data collection and repository management, Array Explorer, Desktop Tools, and the Parts XML API. Includes guides on installation, server configuration, device registration, and analytics reporting.
What's inside Tessonics
- The RIWA Gen-2 Live Monitor is a desktop application used for real-time monitoring of the RIWA adaptive welding system during an active weld process. Note that this tool is specifically for live monitoring and is not intended for browsing or reviewing historical data.
Overview of Tessonics Desktop Tools
v4Tessonics Desktop Tools is a management application that acts as a bridge between Array Explorer (the software running on RSWA devices) and the Tessonics Data Service (TDS). It is required for the administration of users, parts catalogs, parts templates, images, and routes, which are then imported into RSWA units and the main TDS server. Key functionalities include parts catalog management, user administration, and the integration of inspection data imported from F2 units. Note that Desktop Tools requires TDS to operate.Overview of RSWA Part Inspection
v3Part Inspection is an advanced inspection type that uses coordinator-defined factory information to guide and organize the inspection process. This allows inspectors to focus on verifying welds based on a predetermined list created by an administrator. Factory data is authored in the Template Designer application and imported into the RSWA unit using the RSWA Synchronizer program.Overview of RSWA User Manager
v3The User Manager is an application used to manage user information across Tessonics applications. It allows administrators to associate RSWA measurements with specific operators, control user interface options, manage inspections per user, and restrict access to system settings and applications. Note: This is an older version of the software; Tessonics recommends using the newer Designer software for managing RSWA users.Overview of RIWA Hardware Components
The RIWA hardware system consists of the following components:
- RIWA Communication Module (CM)
- RIWA Remote Module (RM)
- Welding electrode with embedded ultrasonic transducer and coaxial cable
- Current Sensor Coil (CSC)
- Current Sensor Hall (CSH)
- CAT6 connection cables
Overview of the Reporter application home page
v3The Reporter application is used by coordinators to review inspections and generate reports. The home page serves as the primary dashboard and contains:
- A vertical navigation list on the left for accessing different report types.
- A top main menu bar for general functions (some options are context-dependent based on the selected report).
- A main content area featuring quick links to report types, links to recent inspections, an option to import inspections, and a link to launch the designer application.
Overview of the legacy Real-Time Integrated Weld Analyzer (RIWA)
The legacy RIWA system provides real-time quality measurement for resistance spot welding by sending ultrasound signals into the weld spot during the welding process. The system digitizes the received signals, transforms them into time diagrams, and uses algorithms to produce weld quality metrics. It is installed on individual robots, can be networked for centralized control, and supports local databases for statistical reporting and monitoring.Overview of legacy RSWA V3 Administrator Tools
v3The legacy RSWA V3 software suite includes several administrator tools for managing users, templates, and data synchronization. Note that Tessonics recommends using the newer Designer software for managing RSWA users (detailed in the Desktop Tools Admin Guide).
Legacy tools include:
- User Manager (old version): Used to manage multiple user accounts and their associated permissions.
- Template Designer (old version): Used to design parts, images, and inspection orders.
- Synchronizer: Used to export user accounts and part templates to an RSWA device, and import inspections from an RSWA device.
- Reporter (old version): Used to view statistics from previous inspections.
Overview of Aggregate Reports
Aggregate Reports provide analytics and quality trends across various configured entities, including lines, cells, guns, part groups, and individual parts. These reports share a common template and are available for all applicable filters. Users can add any chart from these reports to their reporting documents using the 'Add To Report' button located in the top right corner of the chart page.Overview of the RIWA ultrasonic monitoring system
RIWA is a smart, Panel-based ultrasonic monitoring system designed for integration into robotic spot-welding cells. It enables manufacturers to obtain weld-by-weld quality feedback, transforming spot welding into a measurable and traceable process.Overview of Resistance Spot Weld Analyzer (RSWA) hardware components
The Resistance Spot Weld Analyzer (RSWA) is composed of the following hardware components:
- Base Unit: A Windows-based tablet PC equipped with an attached DSP board and pre-installed software.
- Probe: A 52-element matrix transducer that connects directly to the DSP board.
- External Battery: Provides up to 6 hours of operational run time when the device is disconnected from a power source.
- Charger/AC Adapter: Used for powering the device and charging the battery simultaneously.
- Soft Case: A protective carrying case designed to hold all components and protect them from shock and mechanical damage.
Overview of RSWA V4 Software Components
v4The RSWA-v4 software suite is designed for the F2 Platform to support Resistance Spot Weld Analysis (RSWA) and Adhesive Bonding Inspection (ABIS). It consists of three essential components:
- Array Explorer: The core functionality running on RSWA units (installed via the provided installer to upgrade F2 units).
- Tessonics Data Service (TDS): A web-based application used for data collection and reporting.
- Desktop Tools: A desktop application used for managing RSWA units.
