https://docs.skytable.io/Documentation for Skytable, featuring guides on installation, deployment, and the BlueQL query language (including DDL, DML, and DCL). Covers system management, backup and restore, benchmarking, and official drivers across versions 0.8.0 through 0.8.4 and the 'Next' development branch.
What's inside Skytable
- Skyhash is the communication protocol used between Skytable clients (drivers or libraries) and the Skytable server. It is built on top of TCP. Developers can use existing client libraries or implement their own driver using a standard TCP client. When implementing a custom driver, it is recommended to keep data type matching non-exhaustive and throw an exception when an unknown type signature is encountered, as new data types are frequently added to the protocol.
Overview of the Skyhash (SSP) Protocol
Skyhash, also known as the Skytable Serialization Protocol (SSP), is a serialization protocol built on top of TCP used for client/server communication with Skytable. It follows a query/response pattern where clients send 'Query Packets' and the server returns 'Response Packets'.
There are two types of queries:
- Simple queries: Contain one action in the query packet and receive one response in the response packet.
- Pipeline queries: Contain multiple actions in a single query packet and receive multiple responses in the response packet.
Overview of BlueQL query language
BlueQL is Skytable's proprietary query language based on SQL. It is designed with a focus on modern syntax and security, specifically aiming to prevent injection attacks during development. Key security measures include mandatory parameterization of variable data and strict Left-Hand Side (LHS) and Right-Hand Side (RHS) expression enforcement. Additionally, BlueQL supports modern data types such as lists and dictionaries.Overview of Skytable NoSQL Database
Skytable is a free and open-source modern NoSQL database designed for performance, scalability, and powerful querying. It features a robust type system and can be deployed on multiple platforms as a single binary file with no special system dependencies.Overview of Skytable NoSQL Database

Actions (also called queries) are the primary way to interact with Skytable. They are categorized into two types:
- DDL (Data Definition Language): Used to interact with the structures that store data.
- DML (Data Manipulation Language): Used to access and manipulate the data stored within those structures.

Introduction to BlueQL Query Language
Skytable uses a proprietary query language called BlueQL, which serves as a powerful and secure alternative to SQL. BlueQL covers Data Definition Language (DDL), Data Control Language (DCL), and Data Manipulation Language (DML). While it has similar syntax to SQL, there are small but important operational differences.
