https://docs.silixcon.comTechnical documentation for SiliXcon ESC controllers, including hardware pinouts for Raptor and SL series, firmware modules for motor control algorithms (VECTOR and BLDC), and SWTools software (version 3.3.2.25 and 4.0.0-rc2).
What's inside SiliXcon
- The VDS evaluation kit is designed for evaluating controllers. It features a display connected to the controller via the CAN bus to monitor data. Users can control the motor in various driver modes using on-board potentiometers.
Overview of siliXcon SWTools
SWTools is a modular set of software tools designed for manipulating siliXcon devices and integrating them into applications. A single software package is compatible with all siliXcon devices. It is intended for system integrators, solution developers, researchers, and enthusiasts, rather than end users.Overview of emGUI MCP Server
emGUI includes a built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that allows AI assistants (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to interact with connected siliXcon devices (motor controllers, BMS, displays). Once connected, the assistant can read device values, search siliXcon documentation, and follow diagnostic playbooks. The server runs locally on the user's PC; emGUI does not send device data to the internet, though the AI assistant app may send conversation history to its respective cloud provider.Overview of the ECHO controller driver setup wizard
The Interactive Wizard for Driver Setup provides a step-by-step process to initialize the ECHO controller. The scope of the wizard includes installing SWTools, establishing a connection to the controller, tuning the driver, and performing motor identification. The end goal is a functional vehicle with configured maps and throttle control.Overview of SXapi WebSocket Interface
The SXapi / WebSocket is a modern, full-duplex replacement for the SXapi / Server (HTTP REST) interface. It allows PC or web browser applications to communicate with a siliXcon device via a single persistent JSON-RPC 2.0 connection. Key improvements over REST include real-time server push notifications (e.g., task and node state changes), opaque integer handles for nodes instead of raw pointers, and per-connection isolation via worker threads. It is available in prereleaseSWTools emGUI4.0.Overview of SXapi WebSocket Interface
The SXapi WebSocket is a modern, full-duplex replacement for the SXapi HTTP REST interface. It allows PC or web browser applications to communicate with a siliXcon device via a single persistent JSON-RPC 2.0 connection. Key advantages over REST include real-time server push notifications (e.g., task and node state changes), opaque integer handles for node safety instead of raw pointers, and per-connection isolation on separate worker threads.
Default Endpoint:
ws://localhost:29045Note: The WebSocket server can run concurrently with the HTTP REST server (default port
28945).Overview of the OPHION controller getting started wizard
The OPHION interactive getting started wizard provides a step-by-step guide for first-time controller setup. The scope of the wizard covers the following key areas:
- Wiring
- Software setup
- Connecting to the controller
- Motor setup
- Post-setup next steps
Overview of YOS/shell scripting
The YOS/shell interpreter allows siliXcon devices to execute scripts for automating tasks, enhancing functionality, or creating applications. Scripts are executed directly on the device's MCU. There are two primary ways to provide script source code:
- Persistent Scripts: Installed in the device's FLASH memory and executed automatically after boot. These are managed using the
scriptYOS command. - Runtime Scripts: Parsed from a stream input (ASCII) during run-time via a serial terminal or the siliXcon
termtool.
- Persistent Scripts: Installed in the device's FLASH memory and executed automatically after boot. These are managed using the
Overview of the Ophion motor controller application
Ophion is a lightweight, standalone application for siliXcon motor controllers designed to convert inputs into motor commands (such as acceleration, brake, speed, and torque). It is suitable for a range of use cases from basic pump controls to sophisticated position servo drives and supports various built-in control modes for rapid system deployment.Overview of the LYNX Idle feature
The idle feature keeps the motor turning at a configured speed when the rider is not accelerating, allowing the vehicle to creep away from a stop or roll down to a minimum speed rather than a complete standstill.
Key Behaviors:
- The idle regulator only adds to the accelerator signal; it never applies braking.
- The idle contribution is added after the map accelerator level (
acclvl) and is bounded byidle_maxcmd. - The idle is automatically disabled when the motor is disarmed, any brake (static or dynamic) is applied, or a reverse map is active.
- Because the motor continues to turn, inactivity timers will not expire while the idle is running.
Availability: This is a custom LYNX modification and is not part of standard releases. Contact support to request this variant.

Overview of emGUI
emGUI is a standalone windowing environment used for application-level manipulation of siliXcon devices. It serves as the GUI counterpart to theyosctltool. It uses the siliXcon service protocol to dynamically synchronize the device's data model and content, providing a user interface for reading, writing, importing, exporting, and executing operations on the device's managed items.
