What's inside Scansor

  1. Overview of SAP aRFC MonitorV2 sensor

The SAP aRFC MonitorV2 sensor (executable: SAP_aRFC_MonitorV2.exe) monitors errors of asynchronous RFCs based on configurable filters. It is the replacement for the original SAP aRFC Monitor. It connects via RFC using ports 33xx or 48xx (SNC), where 'xx' represents the SAP instance number.
  2. Overview of the SAP Parameter Monitor sensor

The SAP Parameter Monitor sensor checks specific SAP profile parameters to ensure they match expected values. It supports the following comparison operators: <equal>, <not equal>, <less than>, <greater than>, <less or equal>, <greater or equal>, <contains>, and <not contains>.

    Technical Details:

    • Executable: SAP_Parameter_Monitor.exe
    • Connection Method: http(s) to sapstartsrv
    • Ports: 5<nr>13 (http) and 5<nr>14 (https)
    • Lookup Files: itesys.sapparametermonitor.parameterstate.ovl
  3. Overview of the SAP Job Monitor sensor

The SAP Job Monitor sensor tracks the status of SAP jobs. It measures the number of jobs that have aborted or finished within a specified time window, as well as the current count of running, suspended, and released jobs. If a job exceeds a defined runtime threshold, its name is displayed in the sensor text.
  4. Overview of SAP HANA Security Monitor sensor

The SAP HANA Security Monitor sensor monitors critical privileges, encryption, and parameters of a productive SAP HANA database. It connects via ODBC using the executable SAP_HANA_Security__Monitor.exe. The default port is 315 (where 15 is the instance number). It utilizes the following lookup files: itesys.saphanasecuritymonitor.encryptionstatus.ovl, itesys.saphanasecuritymonitor.parameterstatus.ovl, and itesys.saphanasecuritymonitor.systemuserstatus.ovl.
  5. Overview of SAP Webservice Monitor sensor

The SAP Webservice Monitor sensor monitors the status of asynchronous ABAP web service messages to identify errors or messages with long processing times (similar to transaction SRT_MONI).

    Requirements:

    • SAP system must have a Support Package Stack (SPS) from 06/2021 or newer (e.g., NW 7.40 SPS 26 or NW 7.50 SPS 22).

    Technical Details:

    • Executable: SAP_Webservice_Monitor.exe
    • Connection Method: RFC
    • Ports: 33xx or 48xx (SNC), where xx is the SAP Instance number.
  6. Overview of the SAP System Monitor sensor

The SAP System Monitor sensor monitors all instances and processes of an instance-based SAP system. It is compatible with systems such as AS ABAP, AS Java, SAP HANA, Webdispatcher, and SAP Content Server. Note that it does NOT work with SAP Identity Management.
