What's inside Rapid

  1. Overview of RAPID Experience interfaces

RAPID Platform uses 'Experiences,' which are self-contained interfaces designed for specific interactions with site data:

    • Explorer: Used for direct data management, allowing users to view, edit, and delete items. Accessible via quick link buttons at the bottom of the main site menu.
    • Workflow: Based on BPMN 2.0, used to create and manage process diagrams and automate business activities. Accessible via quick navigation buttons at the bottom of the main site sidebar.
    • Designer: Used for site administration, including defining Tables and Columns, and managing pages and views. Accessible via the navigation bar at the bottom of the menu.
    • Tasks: Used for finding and managing user tasks. Accessible at https://tasks.rapidplatform.com/.
  2. Overview of Adaptive Documents in RAPID Platform

Adaptive Documents is an interface in the RAPID Platform used for inputting data into the system and viewing system information. While similar to the Explorer application, Adaptive Documents offers greater flexibility, integrated validity checking, and advanced layout options. A key differentiator is the ability to share these digital forms with users outside of the organization.
  3. Overview of the Board (Kanban) component

The Board component is a visual Kanban tool used to track the status of entities. It organizes items into categories based on a choice-type field, allowing users to see a snapshot of progress and drag-and-drop items across categories to update their status. Common use cases include tracking project statuses, sales leads, order statuses, or invoice monitoring.
  4. Overview of the File Browser component

The File Browser component serves as an interface to a specific SharePoint folder associated with an individual item in the Rapid Platform. It allows users to access the folder, upload new files, view folder contents, and create new folders directly from within the Explorer interface. Each item in a Table is automatically allocated a folder within the Table's SharePoint folder on a SharePoint Drive.
  5. Overview of the Attachments component

The Attachments component is used to reference a small number of lightweight files that need to be accessed frequently within the Explorer. Unlike the File Browser component (Files Tab), which is intended for larger volumes or heavier files, the Attachments component provides a streamlined way to manage a few key documents. Attachments are also visible within the Tasks experience.
  6. Overview of the Embedded Files component

The Embedded Files component acts as a designated slot (pigeon hole) for files, providing a visual clue to users that a file needs to be uploaded, included, or viewed within a specific page context. It allows administrators to pre-configure SharePoint storage locations and naming schemes, ensuring files are organized consistently.

    Key Capabilities:

    • Pre-configure SharePoint folder paths for saving files.
    • Define file name templates for consistent naming.
    • Provide custom labels to prompt users.
    • Set upload requirements (Optional vs. Mandatory).
    • Restrict uploads to either a single file or multiple files.

Warning: This component is no longer supported following Update 1.40.0.

  7. Overview of Rapid Workflow capabilities

Rapid Workflow is a BPMN 2.0-compliant tool used to create flowchart diagrams of organizational processes that can be automated via code. Once a diagram begins running and executing code, it is referred to as a Process. Key automation capabilities include:

    • Automatically copying and converting items (e.g., converting a quote to an invoice).
    • Scheduling tasks and assigning them to users via User lookup fields.
    • Creating sequential task flows that wait for user responses (e.g., onboarding or performance reviews).
    • Generating dynamic emails based on item data.
    • Generating documents and PDFs using data from the Rapid site.
  8. Overview of the Form Component

The Form component is a fundamental tool for Data Table functionality. It allows users to view data at the individual item level and create new data items in a Data Table. It functions as a specialized Grid Layout specifically designed to work with table fields. While it is present by default on the Item Details Tab, multiple forms can be added to Layouts or Pages as needed.
  9. Overview of RAPID Omnichannel communication integrations

The Omnichannel service enables communication integration between RAPID and external services using a bolt-on architecture. A single site can support multiple active integrations simultaneously, allowing different teams (e.g., Sales & Marketing vs. Finance) to manage separate communication channels independently for better tracking and control.
