What's inside Kong

  1. Overview of MetaTrader and supported versions

MetaTrader is an electronic trading platform used for retail forex, stocks, and commodities. It provides tools for market analysis, trade execution, and position management, including technical indicators, charting tools, and automated trading systems called Expert Advisors (EAs). Kong supports both MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5).
  2. Understand Setfiles in MetaTrader

Setfiles in MetaTrader are configuration files used to store user-defined settings for expert advisors (EAs) or custom indicators. They preserve input values, optimization settings, and trading strategy preferences, allowing users to save and reuse specific configurations.
  3. Understand Setfiles in MetaTrader

Setfiles are configuration files used in MetaTrader to store user-defined settings for expert advisors (EAs) or custom indicators. They preserve parameters such as input values, optimization settings, and trading strategy preferences, allowing users to save and reuse specific configurations.
  4. Find schedules for QuantumBots Zoom calls and webinars

QuantumBots hosts weekly Zoom calls for Setup and Educational sessions. All schedules and links for these calls and webinars are posted exclusively in the official Telegram channel.
  5. Understand the difference between Broker and MetaTrader credentials

Brokers provide two distinct sets of credentials:

    1. Broker Portal Credentials: Used to access the broker's website/backend for managing account information, deposits, and withdrawals.
    2. MetaTrader Credentials: Specific credentials provided by the broker used exclusively to log into the MT4 or MT5 trading platforms to execute trades and manage positions.
  6. Understand the benefits of using a VPS for MetaTrader (MT4/MT5)

A Virtual Private Server (VPS) provides a standalone cloud computing environment with dedicated CPU, memory, and storage. For MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) users, a VPS is used to ensure uninterrupted operation of trading platforms and automated trading strategies, preventing failures caused by local power outages, computer downtime, or internet connectivity issues. Additionally, a VPS can reduce latency between the MetaTrader platform and the broker's server, improving trade execution speeds.
  7. Understand the role of a broker in forex trading

In financial markets like forex, a broker serves as the intermediary between the trader and the global currency exchange market. Brokers provide the necessary infrastructure for trading, including trading platforms, order execution services, market analysis tools, and trading account management.
  8. Perform weekly connectivity checks for Quantum Bot on MT5

To ensure the Quantum Bot remains connected to the broker and functions as designed, perform a connectivity check every weekend after the market opens on Sundays (5:00 PM EST). This is necessary because brokers often disconnect accounts for server maintenance. If there are known issues with your broker, these checks should be performed daily.

Verify the following indicators of a healthy connection:

    1. Price Movement: Ensure the price in each currency pair chart is actively moving and generally matches the price in the 'Trade' tab (minor differences may occur due to commissions and swap fees).
    2. Chart Indicators: Confirm a blue hat icon is visible in the top-right corner of each chart.
    3. Navigator Panel: Confirm there are 4 blue icons (one for each currency pair) present in the Navigator panel.
    4. Logs: Check the 'Experts' and 'Journal' tabs for any error messages.
  9. Install the Axis Expert Advisor in MetaTrader 4

To install the Axis Expert Advisor (EA) in MetaTrader 4, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Data Folder: In the MT4 platform, click on the "File" menu and select "Open Data Folder".
    2. Locate the Experts Directory: Navigate through the opened folder to MQL4 > Experts.
    3. Deploy the EA File: Extract the AxisBot.ex4 file from the downloaded AxisBot.zip archive and move/paste it directly into the Experts folder.
      • Important: Do not copy the .zip file itself; only the .ex4 file should be placed in the folder.
    4. Refresh the EA List: Return to the MT4 platform, locate the "Navigator" window, right-click on the "Expert Advisors" entry, and select "Refresh".

Once completed, AxisBot will appear in the list of available Expert Advisors.

  10. Install the Athena Expert Advisor in MetaTrader 4

To install the Athena Expert Advisor (EA), you must move the AthenaBot.ex4 file into the MT4 Experts directory. The EA files are available for download via the Customer Dashboard or the Downloads section.

    Installation Steps:

    1. Open Data Folder: In MetaTrader 4, go to the File menu and select Open Data Folder.
    2. Locate Experts Folder: Navigate through the opened directory: MQL4 $\rightarrow$ Experts.
    3. Deploy EA File: Extract AthenaBot.ex4 from the downloaded AthenaBot.zip archive and paste it directly into the Experts folder.
      • Caution: Do not copy the .zip file itself; only the .ex4 file must be moved.
    4. Refresh Navigator: Return to the MT4 platform, locate the Navigator window, right-click on the Expert Advisors entry, and select Refresh.

Once completed, AthenaBot will appear in the list of available Expert Advisors.

  11. Update Kong bot settings with a full reset

Updating with a reset causes the Kong bot to 'forget' all previous trades on the account. The bot will start fresh and will not attempt to recover previous losses.

    Critical Requirements:

    • Manual Trade Management: You must close all open positions before changing settings. Any trades opened with 'old' settings will no longer be managed by Kong and must be handled manually.
    • Configuration: When updating EABuy and EASell numbers during a reset, you can simultaneously update other bot settings.
    • Consistency: Repeat the reset process for each chart to ensure all currency pairs have the same settings.
