What's inside OmniWord

  1. Overview of My Account tabs

The My Account section is organized into the following tabs:

    • Profile: Manage name, church details, password, and account deletion.
    • Plan & balance: View current balance, access the billing portal, cancel/resume subscriptions, and compare plans.
    • Usage: View the monthly usage board, check cost estimates, and export usage data via CSV.
    • Settings: Configure Screens & Broadcast (overlay URLs, ProPresenter Direct) and the Custom Dictionary.
  2. Overview of OmniWord real-time translation

OmniWord is a browser-based platform for real-time sermon translation. It consists of four primary components:

    • Operator console: Used to capture microphone audio, transcribe speech, and translate in real time.
    • Congregation viewer: Allows attendees to scan a QR code to read live captions on their mobile phones without installing an app.
    • Screen captions: Provides subtitles via a caption-only browser window, Web Overlay URLs (for ProPresenter, OBS, or vMix), or ProPresenter Direct Message tokens.
    • Sermon history: Stores saved transcripts, exports, and Post-Sermon AI assets.

Requirements: A church PC with microphone access and a stable internet connection. Configuration for overlay delivery is found under My Account → Settings → Screens & Broadcast.

  3. Navigate the OmniWord Dashboard

The top navigation bar provides access to:

    • Dashboard: Home base for room management and usage overview.
    • Live: Interface to open a room and run translations.
    • Sermon History: Access to past session transcripts.
    • Help: In-app quick reference.

Account-specific settings (Profile, Plan & balance, Usage, and Settings) are accessed via the My Account option in the user menu (header).

  4. Navigate the OmniWord dashboard and account settings

The top navigation bar provides access to the Dashboard (home), Live translation, Sermon History (transcripts), and Help. The user menu (accessed via the user's name in the header) contains My Account, which is subdivided into Profile, Plan & balance, Usage, and Settings (including Screens & Broadcast and Dictionary).
  5. Manage custom translation terms in the Dictionary

The Dictionary allows churches to define custom translation terms (e.g., church names, theological vocabulary, place names) that should always translate in a specific way. This feature is available on Pro and Premium plans.

Access: Navigate to My Account → Settings → Dictionary.

    Key Behaviors:

    • Language Specificity: Terms are stored per target language. Only pairs matching the current target language are sent to the translation model.
    • Scope: Dictionary entries apply to new live translations only. They do not retroactively change wording in past sessions within Sermon History.
    • Legacy Terms: Terms created before language-aware dictionaries were introduced are treated as English.
  6. Configure live sermon caption delivery

OmniWord uses two different areas for caption setup: the Live screen for language selection and the Screens & Broadcast settings for technical delivery configuration.

    Configuration Split:

    • Live Screen: Used to define which languages appear on screen (Live Translation 1 & 2) and to launch the caption-only browser window via the monitor button.
    • My Account → Settings → Screens & Broadcast: Used to manage Overlay URLs, caption font size, test messages, and ProPresenter Direct settings. These settings are configured per room (service).

Important Constraint: You must select the Live Translation languages before clicking Start Service. Language selections are locked once recording begins, though caption size and delivery settings in the Account menu can still be adjusted.

  7. Bulk import translation terms via CSV

You can bulk-import up to 500 terms using a UTF-8 CSV file.

    Import Process:

    1. Click Import CSV in the Dictionary settings.
    2. Upload a CSV file containing source and target columns.

    CSV Formatting Rules:

    • Columns: Use source,target,targetLang.
    • Language Handling: If the targetLang column is omitted, the system uses the target language currently selected in the web form.
    • Headers: Optional header rows (e.g., source, translation) are automatically skipped.
    • Special Characters: Fields containing commas must be enclosed in quotes.
    • Limits: Maximum of 1,000 terms per church. Duplicate source + targetLang pairs will update the existing entry.

  8. Generate Post-Sermon AI Assets from transcripts

AI assets can be generated from session transcripts that are at least 1 minute long.

    Plan Constraints:

    • Premium: Unlimited session generations. Each session is generated once; subsequent opens show saved assets.
    • Other plans: 2 free VIP trial generations per church lifetime. After trials are exhausted, Premium is required for new generations.

    Steps to generate:

    1. Open a session from the history list.
    2. Click ✨ Generate Post-Sermon AI (or Unlock Post-Sermon AI if trials are exhausted).
    3. Access the following content tabs:
      • Manuscript: Polished, continuous sermon manuscript.
      • Summary: Concise sermon summary.
      • Article: Newsletter-ready article.
      • Action Items: Discussion questions and takeaways.
      • Quotes: Notable quotes.
      • YouTube SEO: Video titles, descriptions, and hashtags.
  9. Configure Live Translation screen captions

To set up screen captions for live translation:

    1. In the Live section under Languages, select a Live Translation language (and a second one if needed).
    2. Display the captions using one of these methods:
      • Click the monitor button to open a dedicated caption window.
      • Navigate to My Account → Settings → Screens & Broadcast, select the room, and copy the Web Overlay URL for Target 1 or 2.
      • Enable ProPresenter Direct to use Message tokens {Lang1} and {Lang2}.
    3. For browser-based software, paste the Web Overlay URL into a ProPresenter Prop Web Object, OBS Browser Source, or vMix Browser Input.
  10. Bulk import dictionary terms via CSV

You can bulk-import up to 500 terms using a UTF-8 encoded CSV file.

    Import Process:

    1. Click Import CSV.
    2. Upload a CSV file containing source and target columns, and an optional targetLang column.

    CSV Formatting Rules:

    • If only two columns are provided, the system uses the target language currently selected in the UI form.
    • Header rows (e.g., source, translation or source, target, targetLang) are automatically skipped.
    • Fields containing commas must be enclosed in quotes.
    • Duplicate source + targetLang pairs will update the existing term.
    • Maximum limit: 1,000 terms per church.

  11. Manage and export sermon history

Sermon history can be accessed via the Sermon History page.

    • Filtering: Use the Room and Date filters at the top of the page. The date filter defaults to the most recent day with sessions.
    • Editing: Completed sessions can be edited inline. You can also rename the session title using the pencil icon.
    • Exporting: Open a session and select Export. Available formats include TXT, CSV, PDF, and SRT (Video Subtitles), depending on the plan.
  12. Analyze translation usage and export data

The Usage tab in My Account provides monthly translation statistics, including:

    • Estimated bill and pending overage for subscribers.
    • Billable language-time (sermon audio × active languages).
    • Breakdown of languages used and a daily usage chart.
    • A detailed usage breakdown table by room (Room Name, duration, rate, and cost).
    • Export: Use the Export CSV button to download the breakdown for the selected month.
