http://docs.mailroseplace.io/Guides for using the Mailrose Place campaign composition tool, including the Builder interface for creating campaigns, application page navigation, and a technical glossary.
What's inside Mailrose Place
- Mailrose Place is a WYSIWYG HTML email campaign composition tool. It generates optimized HTML/CSS compatible with major email clients (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, etc.) and is designed for both non-technical marketing/editorial staff (using Master Templates and blocks) and designers/integrators.
Use the Campaign Builder
The Builder is the drag-and-drop interface used to construct Campaigns. It is accessed via the build button located on each individual Campaign.Use responsive previews and column resizing
The Builder provides tools to ensure campaigns look correct across different devices:
- Device Toggle: Switch between Desktop and Smartphone previews using the toggle button in the top menu.
- Smartphone Width Slider: When in Smartphone preview mode, use the width slider to simulate various screen widths.
- Column Resizing: Hover over the left border of a Column in the preview window. When the black-and-white hatched line and resize cursor appear, click and drag to adjust the column width.
Manage user profile and test email lists
The Profile page allows users to update personal information and the account email address. Additionally, users can manage a list of email addresses used for sending tests; during a test send, you can choose to send to the entire list or a specific subset of addresses.Edit images using the integrated Image Editor
Mailrose Place includes a built-in image editor accessible from images added to a campaign. Available tools include:
- Crop: Rotation, flipping, and free or constrained cropping.
- Filters: Instagram-style filters.
- Adjustments: Colorimetry adjustments.
- Annotate: Add text (custom color, font, size) or geometric shapes (arrows, rectangles, circles, freeform).
- Frame: Choose a frame style.
- Stickers: Overlay images on the main image.
Click 'Save and close' to generate a new image in the media library while preserving the original file.
Format and style text in the Rich Text Widget
The Rich Text Widget provides a toolbar for precise text formatting. Note that specific choices made here (font family, size, line height) override the general typographic inheritance defined in the Widget settings and apply to both Desktop and Smartphone views. Available formatting options include:
- Text Format & Font Family: Apply specific styles and web fonts.
- Font Size & Line Height: Set font size and line height (expressed as a multiplier of the font size; e.g., 1.5 for 16px text results in 24px).
- Letter Spacing: Adjust spacing (0 is normal).
- Styling: Bold, Italic, Text Color, Highlight Color, Underline, Strikethrough, Superscript, Subscript, and Case changing (Uppercase/Lowercase).
- Paragraph Control: Text alignment and bulleted lists.
- Links: Add, open, or remove hyperlinks.
- Insertions: Images, external feed content, ESP tags, special characters, emojis, horizontal separators, and non-breaking spaces.
- Developer Tools: Access to the HTML source code (reserved for developers proficient in email HTML) and a 'clear formatting' option.
Create and save a custom Widget
Custom Widgets are Sections or Content Widgets with specific styles and content that can be reused across campaigns. To save a widget: open the widget's settings panel and click the star button in the Actions area at the top of the side panel. You can then either create a new widget by entering a title or update an existing widget by selecting it from the grid (which permanently replaces the previous version). Once saved, the widget appears in the 'My Widgets' library under the Widgets tab of the side panel.Configure widget and campaign settings
The Side Panel is used to edit parameters. It contains three main menus: Settings, Widgets, and Data.
- General Settings: Displayed by default when no widget is selected.
- Widget Settings: To edit a specific widget, click its name in the contextual toolbar or click the widget directly in the preview (except for Rich Text widgets). To return to general settings, click the 'Close' (X) button in the top-right of the side panel.
- Responsive Overrides: If Desktop/Smartphone toggle buttons appear within a settings pane, you can specify different values for each screen size. Clicking the toggle switches the live preview to that device mode so you can adjust settings in real-time.
Manage Campaign layout with Structure Widgets
Structure Widgets define the column layouts of a Campaign. Users can drag and drop layout presets from the 'Widgets' button in the side panel into the preview window. Layouts can be further customized by adding, removing, or resizing columns.Contact Mailrose Place technical support
To report bugs or ask usage questions, use the Technical Support button within the application. This action creates a support ticket for tracking the incident or inquiry.Manage and filter email campaigns
The Campaigns page provides a centralized list of all campaigns. Users can search for campaigns by name, ID, or Tag. Users with the 'Gestionnaire d'Entreprise' (Company Manager) role have an additional filter to search by Team. Tags displayed in the Name column can be clicked to instantly filter the list by that specific tag.Manage widgets using the Builder interface
Widgets in the live preview react to mouse hovers, displaying a contextual toolbar in the top-left corner and a delete button in the top-right corner.
Contextual Toolbar Actions:
- Identify Widget: Displays the type of widget (Section, Column, or specific content widget).
- Duplicate: Use the duplication button to clone the widget.
- Add Column: For Column widgets, the
+button adds a new empty column to the right. - Reorder: Use the arrow buttons to move the widget within its container (Up/Down for Sections and Content Widgets; Left/Right for Columns).
Deletion:
- Click the Trash icon in the top-right corner twice to confirm and delete a widget.
Movement:
- Drag & Drop: Click and hold the widget name in the contextual toolbar to drag the widget to a new position in the campaign.
