https://docs.lisk.comDeveloper resources for the Lisk network, focusing on its migration to L2. Includes guides for deploying ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155 smart contracts, interacting with the blockchain via ethers.js and Hardhat, and utilizing network tools such as RPC providers, bridges, oracles (RedStone), and indexers (Envio).
What's inside Lisk
- The Superchain Token List is a reference repository used to help users discover the correct bridged token addresses for native tokens. Tokens included in this list automatically appear on certain tools, such as the Superchain Bridges UI. However, listing on the Lisk Bridge UI is not automatic and requires a manual review by the Lisk team.
Overview of the Lisk Layer 2 Network
Lisk is a highly efficient, lightning-fast, and scalable Layer 2 (L2) network built on Optimism (OP) and secured by Ethereum. It provides an EVM-compatible environment with low-cost transactions and supports all major developer frameworks, making it suitable for building and deploying web3 applications.Overview of Web3 applications and dApps
Web3 applications, also known as decentralized applications (dApps), are programs that run on a blockchain. Unlike Web 2.0 apps, they allow users to interact in a trustless manner, providing greater ownership and control over data and privacy by removing the need for a central authority. Common types of Web3 applications include:
- DeFi (Decentralized Finance): DEXs, GameFi, staking, lending/borrowing, and RWA tokenization.
- DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations)
- DeSoc (Decentralized Social Media)
- DeSci (Decentralized Science)
- DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks)
Lisk Security Council Responsibilities
The Lisk Security Council is a 3-of-5 multi-signature wallet composed of Lisk team and Onchain Foundation members. Its primary purpose is to handle smart contract upgrades in the event of security vulnerabilities.
Controlled Contracts:
- Claims contract
- Governance contracts
- Staking and Rewards contracts
- All Vesting contracts
- Airdrop contract
Note: The Security Council cannot upgrade the ERC-20 token contract, but it can add accounts authorized to burn LSK tokens (intended for potential community-decided burns of the 100M LSK DAO allocation).
Use MoonPay for Lisk Chain on-ramp and off-ramp
MoonPay is an on/off-ramp provider that integrates LSK on the Lisk Chain, allowing users to purchase cryptocurrencies directly from websites or web3 applications.Choose a RedStone oracle data model for Lisk
RedStone provides three distinct models for consuming off-chain data on the Lisk network, depending on the protocol's requirements for update speed and interface:
- RedStone Pull: A pull oracle with update times under 10 seconds and a broad spectrum of available price feeds. This is recommended for most use cases.
- RedStone Push: A push oracle designed for protocols using traditional oracle interfaces, featuring customizable heartbeats and deviation thresholds.
- ERC7412: A hybrid model that combines both Push and Pull mechanisms.
Understand the role and responsibilities of a Lisk DAO delegate
Delegates represent token holders in the Lisk DAO by voting on proposals and representing community interests.
Required responsibilities:
- Follow Lisk DAO Governance documentation processes.
- Act in the best interest of represented token holders.
- Actively participate in decision-making by voting on proposals.
Additional contributions of high-quality delegates:
- Creating new proposals.
- Providing feedback on draft proposals.
- Engaging with the community online (Lisk Chat, Governance Forum) and offline.
Lisk DAO Governance and Treasury
The Lisk DAO allows LSK token holders to participate in governance via proposals for fund allocation, protocol updates, and strategic direction.
Tools:
- Degov: Platform for creating and voting on proposals and managing delegation.
- Forum & Discord: Community discussion.
Treasury:
- Resides in the Timelock contract:
0x2294A7f24187B84995A2A28112f82f07BE1BceAD. - Funds are transferred only via successful funding proposals and are not managed by the Onchain Foundation.
Use Chainlink CCIP for Lisk cross-chain interoperability
Chainlink CCIP is a blockchain interoperability protocol available on Lisk that allows developers to build applications capable of transferring tokens, data messages, or both across 20+ different blockchains. It leverages Chainlink's decentralized oracle network for security and provides a standardized infrastructure for multi-chain DeFi, NFTs, and gaming applications.Use Kotani Pay for stablecoin on-ramps in Africa
Kotani Pay provides fiat-to-stablecoin on-ramps and off-ramps for USDT and USDC on the Lisk Chain, targeting local payment channels in Africa for dApps and blockchain fintechs.Interact with deployed contracts via thirdweb Explore
Once a smart contract is deployed, you can interact with it using the thirdweb Explore interface. This allows for management and interaction with various token standards, including ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155, on the Lisk network.Access RedStone Push oracle data feeds on Lisk
RedStone Push provides reliable, frequently updated data feeds on Lisk Mainnet. These feeds are compatible with Chainlink'sAggregatorV3Interface. The architecture consists of Aggregator contracts (which store aggregated data on-chain) and Consumer contracts (your dApp/smart contract) that retrieve this data via the interface.
