Includes detailed information on probe calibration, accuracy, pellet grill compatibility (Blaz’n Grills, Camp Chef, MAK GRILLS, Traeger), and Yoder smoker integration.
What's inside FireBoard
- The FireBoard Beacon is a wireless temperature and humidity sensor designed for real-time tracking in refrigerators, freezers, or production zones. It uses FireBoard-S1G™ low-frequency signal technology, which provides a greater range than standard 2.4GHz connectivity. The device integrates with the FireBoard App for remote monitoring via smartphone, tablet, or web browser and supports real-time alerts via push notifications, SMS, and email.
Overview of FireBoard integration for Yoder S Series Smokers
Yoder S Series pellet smokers feature an integrated FireBoard temperature monitoring system with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. This allows users to monitor food and smoker temperatures via the FireBoard App on smartphones, tablets, or computers. The integrated system includes two ports for temperature probes (food or ambient). For users requiring more than two probes, a standalone FireBoard device can be used in conjunction with the Yoder smoker; both can be connected to the FireBoard App simultaneously for synchronized monitoring.FireBoard Pulse product overview
The FireBoard Pulse is a dual-sensor wireless thermometer designed for internal and surface temperature monitoring during grilling, smoking, or baking. It features an IP67 water-resistance rating, making it durable and easy to clean with soap and water. Data transmitted over-the-air is protected using AES-128 encryption.FireBoard probe calibration overview
Every FireBoard is calibrated in-house using high-precision resistors to create a precise temperature curve. While standard calibration is not NIST traceable, NIST traceable certificates are available as an optional paid service via a separate testing facility.FireBoard Spark Device Overview
The FireBoard Spark is a cloud-connected device that combines a fast instant-read thermometer with a leave-in probe for long-term temperature tracking. It features an LCD screen for temperature readings and can be powered on by either extending the instant-read probe or pressing the function button. To receive Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, the device must be connected to a wireless network.FireBoard Drive hardware compatibility and setup
The FireBoard Drive system allows a fan to be connected to maintain a specific temperature. Hardware compatibility varies by model:
- FireBoard 2 Drive and FireBoard 2 Pro: Fans plug directly into the unit via a 2.5mm barrel plug.
- FireBoard 2 and first generation FireBoard (FBX11): Require a FireBoard Drive Fan Cable that plugs into the auxiliary port.
The FireBoard automatically detects the fan or cable and displays a fan icon. Ensure the device has the latest firmware (via WiFi OTA update) and the FireBoard App is up to date for full functionality.
Retrieve details for a specific FireBoard device
Get detailed information about a specific device by using its unique UUID in the request URL. Device properties includeid,UUID,title,createddate,hardware_id(serial number),latest_temps,device_log,channels(labels, alerts, notifications), andlast_templog.curl "https://fireboard.io/api/v1/devices/1e7a77ea-3ed8-4f5a-824a-53e307a949b2.json" \ -H "Authorization: Token 9944bb9966cc22cc9418ad846dd0e4bbdfc6ee4b"Retrieve details for a specific session
Get detailed information about a specific session using its unique integer ID. The returned session object includes properties such astitle,duration,createddate,start_time,end_time,description,ownerdetails, and an array ofdevicesused.curl "https://fireboard.io/api/v1/sessions/<id>.json" -H "Authorization: Token <YOUR_TOKEN>"Manage FireBoard data via the FireBoard.io web portal
The FireBoard.io web portal allows users to view historical sessions and notes, set alarms, and modify account profiles from any web browser.Web Portal URL: https://fireboard.ioPower and battery requirements for FireBoard Beacon
The FireBoard Beacon is powered by 2 AA lithium batteries (included). Note that the FireBoard 2 uses a separate rechargeable lithium-ion battery; keeping the FireBoard 2 plugged in is recommended to ensure a stable connection to the Beacon.Operate the FireBoard FBX11 device
The FireBoard FBX11 is used to monitor temperatures via probes. Basic device operations include:
- Power On/Off: Hold the Power button for three seconds to turn the unit on or off.
- Device Information: Press the Select button to cycle through device information, such as the serial number and WiFi connection status.
- Fan Usage: To use a fan with the FBX11, a FireBoard Drive Cable is required.
Determine FireBoard fan compatibility
To be compatible with FireBoard devices, a fan must meet the following technical requirements:
- Power: 12 VDC
- Connector: 2.5 mm barrel plug
Connection method varies by model:
- FireBoard 2 Drive and FireBoard 2 Pro: Compatible fans plug directly into the unit.
- FireBoard 2 and original FireBoard (FBX11): Require the Drive Fan Cable to connect a fan.
