https://docs.enjin.ioDocumentation for the Enjin ecosystem, including the Enjin Blockchain, Enjin Platform, and associated SDKs. It covers token management (creating, freezing, and burning tokens), user wallet management, running blockchain nodes and validators, and implementing NFT integration in games using Unity and Godot.
What's inside Enjin
- The Enjin Matrixchain is a developer-friendly blockchain built on the Enjin Relaychain, specifically optimized for digital assets. Unlike general-purpose chains, it integrates digital asset functionality directly into the protocol level. This design allows for faster on-chain asset creation and interactions, enhanced security, interoperability, and flexibility, enabling developers to build applications without implementing basic asset security and functionality from scratch.
Overview of the Stake Exchange Pallet
The Stake Exchange Pallet enables users to stake ENJ tokens to receive sENJ tokens (liquid staking) and create offers to exchange sENJ tokens back into ENJ. sENJ tokens represent the staked value of ENJ and correspond to specific Enjin Nomination Pools. Users can select offers based on exchange rates and the specific type of sENJ tokens accepted.Overview of Enjin Wallet capabilities
The Enjin Wallet is a blockchain wallet specifically tailored for NFTs, designed for game developers, art collectors, and gamers. It provides a secure solution for storing, trading, and transferring NFTs and supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies and blockchain standards, including BTC, LTC, ETH, BEP20, Polygon, Polkadot, KSM, Doge, and ERC20.Overview of ENJ Infusion
ENJ Infusion allows creators to lock Enjin Coin (ENJ) into NFTs or Multi-Unit Tokens. This embeds tangible value into digital assets. The infused ENJ is locked until the token is burned (a process called "melting"), at which point the ENJ can be retrieved. This mechanism is used to guarantee a base value for assets, increase user trust, and provide incentives for acquiring tokens in gaming, digital art, and loyalty programs.Overview of the Enjin Ecosystem
Enjin is a blockchain platform specifically engineered for games and applications, featuring native integration of NFTs at the protocol level. The ecosystem consists of several interconnected components:
- Enjin Blockchain: A Proof-of-Stake (PoS), dual-layer chain optimized for scalability and security in gaming.
- Enjin Platform: The primary gateway to the blockchain, providing a GraphQL API for managing digital assets and interacting with users without requiring deep blockchain expertise.
- SDKs & Code Snippets: Official SDKs are available in C# and C++, with code snippets provided for GraphQL, cURL, JavaScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Enjin Wallet: A mobile wallet for storing and trading NFTs.
- NFT.io: The official marketplace for discovering and trading ecosystem NFTs.
- Enjin Beam: A tool for bulk NFT distribution via QR codes and links for airdrops and rewards.
Overview of Enjin Metadata Storage Options
Enjin provides three primary methods for storing token metadata, allowing developers to balance cost, security, and flexibility. Metadata can be used to attach titles, narratives, visuals, GIFs, videos, and 3D models to tokens.
- On-Chain Storage (Attributes): Metadata is stored directly on the blockchain. It is immutable and highly secure but has space limitations and requires a small fee at the time of minting. Best for small, permanent data.
- Off-Chain Storage (JSON): Metadata is stored on a separate server or database and referenced via a URL pointing to a JSON file. This is cheaper and more flexible for large or frequently updated data but depends on the availability of the external server.
- IPFS (InterPlanetary File System): A decentralized storage solution where metadata is stored as a JSON file. IPFS assigns a unique hash to the file, ensuring the data is tamper-proof and permanent while remaining off the main blockchain.
Overview of Enjin Relaychain architecture
Enjin Relaychain is a decentralized, scalable network built for digital assets and NFTs, utilizing the Polkadot ecosystem and the open-source Substrate framework. It employs a multi-chain architecture consisting of a primary Relay chain and multiple specialized Matrix Chains.
- Relay Chain: Optimized for security, network synchronicity, and block validation.
- Matrix Chains: Specialized blockchains that can be customized for specific use cases, prioritizing speed, scalability, and cost efficiency by offloading security and integrity to the Relay chain.
Overview of Enjin Fuel Tanks
A Fuel Tank is an on-chain pool of Enjin Coin (ENJ) used to pay transaction fees and optional storage deposits on behalf of other accounts. This allows users (e.g., players in a game) to perform blockchain transactions without needing to hold ENJ or manage gas fees. For a transaction to be successfully paid by a tank, the following conditions must be met:
- The tank is not frozen.
- The tank has a sufficient ENJ balance.
- The dispatching account is authorized to use the tank.
- The tank's configured rules allow the specific transaction.
Overview of the Enjin Blockchain Ecosystem
Enjin provides a Platform as a Service (PaaS) designed to simplify the creation and administration of blockchain-based games and business applications. The ecosystem is built upon the Enjin Relaychain and Enjin Matrixchain, which serve as the blockchain backbone. Key components available to developers include the Enjin Platform, NFT.io, Enjin Wallet 2.0, Blockchain SDKs, Platform API, and automation services such as the wallet Daemon.Overview of Enjin Platform Proxies
A proxy allows a delegate account to perform a limited set of actions on behalf of an owner account without the delegate ever holding the owner's private keys. The owner maintains full control by deciding which delegate to authorize and which 'proxy type' to assign, which restricts the specific API calls the delegate can make. This differs from managed wallets where the platform holds the keys; with proxies, the owner retains their own keys.Overview of Enjin Relaychain Liquid Staking
Enjin Relaychain utilizes a liquid staking model via Nomination Pools. In this system, users stake ENJ into a pool, and in return, they receive a liquid token called sENJ. This allows users to maintain liquidity (the sENJ can be transferred or exchanged) while their underlying ENJ earns rewards.
Key roles include:
- Validator: Secures the network and generates rewards.
- Nominator: The account that chooses validators; in Enjin's case, this is the nomination pool account.
- Nomination Pool: An account that aggregates funds from multiple users to lower the minimum staking requirement (down to 1 ENJ) and simplify validator selection.
Overview of the Enjin Blockchain Marketplace
The marketplace is used for trading assets onpallet-multi-tokens. It supports three primary types of listings: Fixed Price listings (immediate purchase, supports partial fills), Timed Auctions (bidding system with a time limit), and Offer listings (buyer-created requests to buy an asset with counter-offer capabilities).
