What's inside CSMM

  1. Overview of CSMM Custom Hooks

Custom Hooks allow CSMM to monitor server console logs for specific events and execute custom actions (commands) in response. This can be used for automated announcements, rewards based on player achievements, or triggering events based on specific game occurrences. Some advanced hooks require the CSMM Patrons Mod (CPM) version 9.5 or higher to function, as CPM provides detailed entity and event data in the logs that standard logs lack.
  2. Overview of the CSMM Economy module

The Economy module allows server administrators to assign costs to various in-game actions, such as teleports and custom commands, creating a currency-based system for players.
  3. Overview of PrismaCore Advanced Claims

Advanced Claims are rectangular zones defined by coordinates that allow administrators to apply specific rules to a map area. Unlike Land Claim Blocks (LCB), they are not based on placing blocks in-game and can be set to nearly any rectangular size. They are used for tasks such as creating server lobbies, PVE/PVP zones, and protected player bases.
  4. Overview of PrismaCore features

PrismaCore is a mod designed to extend the functionality of existing server manager commands and introduce new features. Key capabilities include:

    • Claims Management: Advanced Claims and a Claim Creator WebUI.
    • AntiCheat: Detection for Damage, SpectatorMode, GodMode, and Flying.
    • World & Region Control: Reset Regions, Reset RWG Prefabs, and Questpoi Protection.
    • Utility Features: Location Tracking, Protective Bubble, Nighttime Announcer, Sleeper control, Falling blocks control, and Chat coloring.

These features are accessible via both console and chat commands.

  5. Overview of Catalysm's Server Manager & Monitor (CSMM)

Catalysm's Server Manager & Monitor (CSMM) is a web-based management and monitoring portal for 7 Days To Die servers. It provides a centralized interface to manage multiple separate servers, each with unique permissions and configurations, without requiring direct console access. Key capabilities include:

    • Monitoring server performance
    • Tracking player actions and movement
    • Distributing items to players
    • Banning players
    • Managing the server economy
  6. Overview of Alloc's server fixes for 7 Days To Die

Alloc's Fixes are a group of mod addons for 7 Days To Die that provide advanced functionality, including a Google Maps-style interactive world map and a custom API. This API is mandatory for CSMM to function, as it allows remote tools to gather in-game server data.
  7. Overview of Handlebars in CSMM

Handlebars is an extension to standard CSMM commands that enables the use of loops, if-else logic, and mathematical functions. It can be implemented anywhere CSMM sends commands to the 7D2D server, including custom commands, hooks, automation, banned items, and vote rewards.
  8. Overview of PrismaCore Reset Regions

Reset Regions allow administrators to mark specific 500x500 square areas (region files) of the 7 Days to Die map to be erased during a special reboot. This restores buildings and resources to their original seed state and removes all player-made modifications, structures, and bases.

    Key constraints:

    • Land claim blocks cannot be placed in a reset region.
    • Existing land claim blocks in a region marked for reset are immediately deleted.
    • Resetting a region wipes the entire region file; it is impossible to reset only a portion of a region file.
  9. Pause custom command execution with wait(x)

The wait(x) function pauses the execution of a custom command for x seconds. Note that long delays are discouraged because CSMM will forget about running commands if the service restarts.
pm ${player.entityId} "You will be teleported in one minute."; wait(60); cpm-mvw ${player.entityId} home
  10. Prerequisites for PvPvE Server Configuration

To configure a PvPvE hybrid server, the following requirements and constraints apply:

    • PrismaCore Mod: Required, version 19.8 or higher.
    • Server Mode: The server is not 'both' PVP and PVE; it is a PVP server with PVE zones, or a PVE server with PVP zones.
    • Protection Limits: PVE zones prevent direct player-to-player damage but do not stop base raiding, griefing, or indirect damage (e.g., rocket-frag splash, robotic turrets).
    • Border Visibility: The PVE/PVP border is a line. Players can be killed across this line if they are visible to the attacker. A safety buffer of approximately 200 units is recommended.
  11. Understand CSMM Role hierarchy and auto-assignment

Roles in CSMM are used to grant or limit access to the Server Management UI, in-game custom commands, and specific feature settings.

    Hierarchy Logic:

    • Roles use a numeric Level (0 to 9999).
    • Lower numbers are more powerful (e.g., Level 0 is the most powerful).
    • Higher numbers are less powerful (e.g., Level 2000 is a basic player).

    Auto-Assignment:

    • New players are automatically assigned to the role with the highest numeric level (the lowest rank).
    • If a new role is created with a level higher than the current lowest rank, only new players will be assigned to it; existing players retain their current role.
  12. Install system dependencies for 7 Days to Die server

Before installing the gameserver software, you must install a set of required system utilities and libraries. This includes adding the i386 architecture to support 32-bit libraries required by the server.
    sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
    sudo apt update
sudo apt install mailutils postfix curl wget file bzip2 gzip unzip bsdmainutils python util-linux ca-certificates binutils bc jq tmux lib32gcc1 libstdc++6 libstdc++6:i386 telnet expect
