What's inside CRBT

  1. Overview of CRBT and CRBTscript

CRBT provides a set of tools for community building, including CRBTscript. CRBTscript is a placeholder system designed to allow the embedding of dynamically changing values, specifically used for customizing Welcome and Farewell messages.
  2. Use server context placeholders in crbtscript

The server context allows you to retrieve information about the Discord server where an event is triggered. The server object is automatically assigned based on the event: for Welcome and Farewell messages, it is the server the user joined or left; for Custom commands, it is the server where the command was triggered.
    **<server.name> - Members**
    We have **<server.members>** members!
  3. Understand CRBT automated Discord messages

CRBT sends automated messages to Discord users to provide updates on specific interactions or server events. These messages are triggered by the following events:

    • Bug Reports & Suggestions: When a developer interacts with a report submitted via /report or a suggestion submitted via /suggest (e.g., the report was approved, fixed, denied, or replied to).
    • Moderation History: When a moderator in a server the user is part of adds a case to their moderation history, such as a warn, timeout, ban, kick, or unban.
    • Developer Broadcasts: Messages sent from CRBT developers to users who have access to CRBT Dev.
  4. CRBT v11 Per-server Economy System

The global Purplet economy is being replaced by a per-server economy system. This allows server owners and administrators to create localized stores to sell items such as roles and boosters, rather than relying on a global store for profile badges and banners.
  5. Use Channel Context placeholders in crbtscript

The Channel Context allows you to retrieve and display information about a Discord channel within messages. Depending on the event, the context refers to different channels:

    • Welcome message: The designated Welcome channel.
    • Farewell message: The designated Farewell channel.
    • Custom command: The channel where the command was triggered.
  6. CRBT v11 Web Profiles and User Discovery

CRBT v11 transitions profiles to a web-based system. Users can create a vanity URL (e.g., https://crbt.app/@username) that integrates their Discord profile with CRBT-specific fields, such as 'Birthday'. These profiles are public and searchable via the CRBT web app to facilitate user discovery within the Discord community.
  7. Access CRBT user information using the <crbt> tag

The <crbt> tag is a globally available resource in crbtscript used to retrieve information about the CRBT user. It does not require a specific context to be used. The <crbt> tag inherits most properties from the <user> tag, with the exception of properties related to Economy.
    <crbt.mention> is the best bot!!!
  8. CRBT v11 Web Profiles and User Discovery

CRBT v11 is transitioning Profiles to a web-based system. Users can create a vanity URL (e.g., https://crbt.app/@username) that links to their Discord profile and includes CRBT-specific fields, such as the "Birthday" field. These profiles will be public and searchable within the CRBT web app to facilitate user discovery.
  9. Get information about a bot in a server

Use the /bot info command to retrieve statistics and information about a bot within a server. When targeting CRBT, additional extended information is displayed. This information is also accessible via the bottom navigation of the User Info sheet.
    /bot info
  10. CRBT v11 Per-server Economy System

The global Purplet economy is being replaced by a per-server economy system. This allows server owners and administrators to create their own custom stores to sell items such as roles, boosters, and other server-specific rewards.
  11. CRBT Project Sunset and End-of-Life Timeline

Development for CRBT will be discontinued in September 2025. While the bot will continue to exist for as long as possible, it will no longer receive new features or bug fixes. The CRBT Team's open-source repositories on GitHub will be archived, the Discord community will be privated, and support will cease. The CRBT.app website and blog will remain available for a few years for archival purposes.
  12. Get bot information using /bot info

Use the /bot info command to retrieve information and statistics about a bot within a server. When targeting CRBT, additional bot-specific stats are displayed. This command replaces the deprecated /crbt info command.
