What's inside Candide
- The Safe Recovery Service SDK provides TypeScript classes to interact with the Safe Recovery Service. It supports three primary workflows: self-managed guardian recovery, custodial guardian recovery (via email/SMS), and recovery alert notifications. Note that this SDK is distinct from the on-chain Social Recovery Module SDK.
Overview of Social Recovery Module Alert Subscriptions
Alert subscriptions allow users to monitor a Safe account across all supported chains. These subscriptions are distinct from email/SMS recovery registrations; subscribing to alerts does not add a guardian or enable recovery. To establish a subscription, a user must first create an inactive subscription and then activate it using a verification code sent to the chosen channel (email or SMS). All subscription management actions (creation, lookup, and removal) require the Safe owner to sign a SIWE (Sign-In with Ethereum) message.Overview of Safe Simulation for Safe accounts
Safe Simulation is a transaction simulation system designed specifically for Safe accounts to detect security-critical operations that generic wallets often miss. It identifies changes to the Safe's security model—such as adding modules, changing owners, modifying multisig thresholds, or executing delegate calls—and presents them in clear language before a user signs a transaction.
Key security-critical operations detected include:
enableModule(): Adding new modules that may execute transactions without signatures.addOwnerWithThreshold()/removeOwner(): Changes to account ownership.changeThreshold(): Modifications to the required number of signatures.- Delegate calls and guard modifications.
Overview of Passkey Authentication with Calibur
Calibur allows WebAuthn passkeys (such as Face ID, fingerprint sensors, or security keys) to act as secondary signers for a smart account.
Key architectural constraints:
- Registration: Passkey registration must be signed by an admin key (the EOA root key), as only admin keys have permission to call key management functions.
- Usage: Once registered, the passkey can sign regular transactions independently without requiring the root key.
- Key Settings: Each registered key can have its own expiration time, hook, and admin flag.
Overview of Simple 7702 Account (EntryPoint v0.8)
TheSimple7702Accountis designed for EntryPoint v0.8. It supports full smart account features, including gas sponsorship and ERC-20 gas payments via the Candide paymaster. If migrating to EntryPoint v0.9, refer to the Simple 7702 Account (EntryPoint v0.9) documentation.Overview of Candide Guardian Recovery Service
Candide Guardian is a managed recovery service that acts as a trusted guardian for user Smart Accounts. It replaces the need for users to manage guardian private keys by providing familiar security methods (Email, SMS, or both) for recovery verification. Key features include automated signing after verification, a built-in security grace period before recovery execution, and gas sponsorship for recovery transactions.Overview of InstaGas Architecture
InstaGas is an ERC-4337 compliant paymaster compatible with any Bundler or Account Abstraction SDK. It supports gas sponsorship via customizable Gas Policies and provides ERC-20 tokens as a fallback for gas payments. It is designed for future compatibility with EIP-7702 (extending EOAs with smart wallet features) and RIP-7560 (Native Account Abstraction).Overview of Solana Paymaster by Candide
The Solana Paymaster is a hosted Kora endpoint that acts as a transaction fee payer. This allows users to transact from accounts with zero SOL by paying the network fee in USDT. It is compatible with the Solana Foundation's Kora open fee-payer standard and works with Kora clients such as@solana/kora.Overview of InstaGas gas sponsorship
InstaGas allows application developers to sponsor gas fees for end users using customized policies tailored to specific smart contracts and use cases. It is designed for apps (such as DeFi, Web3 games, and NFT marketplaces) that want to abstract gas costs for users without requiring complex wallet integrations.Overview of the Candide Platform API
The Platform API is a control-plane REST API used to manage Candide gas policies from server-side code, deployment scripts, or internal tools. It allows developers to automate policy provisioning (e.g., per customer) and sync configurations across environments. It does not submit or sponsor UserOperations; that is handled by the Paymaster API.Overview of the Safe Recovery Service API
The Safe Recovery Service API allows developers to register an email address or phone number as a recovery method for a Safe account. Once registered, the service acts as a service-managed guardian. During the recovery process, the user verifies a one-time password (OTP) to obtain a guardian signature, which counts as one approval toward the account's recovery threshold in the Social Recovery Module.
Prerequisites:
- Deploy a Safe account with the Social Recovery Module enabled.
- Obtain a service URL and Bearer token by requesting service access.
- Register recovery methods while the user still has control of the account (registrations are specific to an account and chain).
Overview of Passkey Authentication for Safe Smart Accounts
Passkeys allow users to secure on-chain smart accounts using biometric authentication (fingerprint, face recognition) or device PINs instead of seed phrases. They utilize the secp256r1 curve and the WebAuthn standard, leveraging device secure enclaves. Safe Passkeys contracts are developed by the Safe Protocol Team.
