https://docs.ansehn.comDocumentation for the Ansehn AI Search Monitoring & Optimization platform. Includes guides on main metrics such as Visibility, Share of Voice, Position Rank, and Sentiment Score, as well as API documentation for analytics and project monitors. Covers integrations with AWS CloudFront, Cloudflare (Logpush and Worker), Slack, and Microsoft Teams, along with server log analytics and SSO setup.
What's inside Ansehn
- Ansehn's Cloudflare Logpush integration streams HTTP request logs in real-time to detect AI crawler activity (e.g., GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot). This method is available only for Cloudflare Enterprise plans and adds zero latency to visitor requests because it operates entirely on Cloudflare's platform. Ansehn filters the logs server-side, storing only recognized AI crawler rows and dropping all other traffic.
Overview of Ansehn Enterprise SSO
Ansehn supports Enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) via the OIDC protocol, allowing organizations to centralize access control and security through their own Identity Provider (IdP). SSO is available for customers on the Enterprise plan. It controls the authentication method (how users sign in), but access to projects and organization resources is still managed via invitations in Ansehn.Overview of Ansehn Custom Log API
The Custom Log API enables continuous, automated monitoring of AI crawler activity (such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and Gemini) by allowing you to stream normalized web request logs to Ansehn via HTTPS. It is platform-agnostic and accepts JSON payloads, making it suitable for web servers, CDNs, edge workers, or serverless platforms. Ansehn automatically detects AI crawler traffic by User-Agent and stores only those records in the Server Logs dashboard and Our Pages analytics; non-crawler traffic is dropped.Overview of Ansehn Cloudflare Worker integration
The Cloudflare Worker integration forwards request metadata to Ansehn in near real-time to detect AI crawler activity (e.g., GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot). It works on all Cloudflare plans (Free, Pro, Business, Enterprise). The Worker usesctx.waitUntilto ensure logging is non-blocking and does not add latency for visitors. Ansehn only stores recognized AI crawler rows; non-AI traffic is dropped.Overview of the Ansehn AI Search Monitoring & Optimization Platform
Ansehn is a platform designed for marketing, SEO, and digital teams to monitor and optimize how their brand, content, and products appear across AI search engines (including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Claude). The platform provides four primary capabilities:
- AI Search Monitoring: Tracking mentions, citations, and visibility gaps across AI search engines.
- Opportunity Discovery: Identifying content gaps and analyzing competitor performance for specific prompts and queries.
- Strategic Optimization: Using semantic analysis and automated content recommendations to improve AI visibility.
- Enterprise Governance: Centralized management of teams and data via roles, permissions, versioning, and audit trails.
Overview of Server Logs Analytics for AI Monitoring
Server Logs Analytics provides direct evidence of AI crawler activity by analyzing raw web server access logs. It allows developers and site owners to verify which AI companies are accessing their site, diagnoserobots.txtissues, track daily activity trends, and prioritize content based on the pages most visited by AI bots.Understand and interpret the AI Sentiment Score
The Sentiment Score measures how positively or negatively AI platforms describe your brand across responses. While 'Visibility' tracks if a brand appears, the Sentiment Score tracks the tone of that presence.
Sentiment Categories:
- Positive: Includes praise or recommendations.
- Neutral: Factual mentions without strong opinion.
- Negative: Includes criticism, warnings, or clear disadvantages.
Strategic Importance:
- Reputation Management: High visibility paired with a low sentiment score indicates a brand issue (e.g., AI consistently highlighting flaws) rather than a marketing success.
- Qualitative Positioning: Ensures that when a brand is found in an AI response, it is presented as a recommendation or favorable review rather than a neutral listing or warning.
Monitor brand presence with Citation Analytics
Citation Analytics provides insights into how a brand appears across AI search engines, including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Claude. It analyzes mentions, links, and citations of a website within AI-generated answers, allowing users to identify top-performing pages and understand which models are citing their content and in what context.Understand Ansehn's Two-Tier Role System
Ansehn uses a two-tier role-based access control (RBAC) system to manage permissions. This allows users to have a baseline level of access across the organization while having different, specific permissions for individual projects.
- Organization Role: The baseline role (e.g., Owner, Admin) that controls access to billing, team management, and organization-wide settings.
- Project Role: A project-specific role that can override the organization role for that specific project. If a project role is assigned, it completely replaces the organization role's permissions for that project.
Understand Ansehn's Main Metrics for AI Brand Performance
Ansehn provides a suite of Main Metrics to track how a brand performs in AI-generated answers, moving beyond traditional search performance to measure AI model mentions and credibility. These metrics should be analyzed together to get a complete picture of brand health in AI responses:
- Visibility: Indicates whether the brand appears in the AI-generated answer.
- Share of Voice: Measures the proportion of the overall conversation the brand owns compared to others.
- Position Score: Indicates how early or prominently the brand appears within the response.
- Citation Share: Measures whether the brand's mentions are supported by credible sources/citations.
- Sentiment Score: Evaluates the tone and positivity of the brand's description.
Understand the difference between Organizations and Projects
In Ansehn, an Organization is the top-level entity created upon sign-up, handling billing, subscription plans, and team membership. A Project is a specific workspace within an Organization used to monitor a single brand, website, or digital property (e.g., a main company site, a regional site, or a specific client for agencies).
Key differences:
- Billing: Attached to the Organization; Project limits are determined by the Organization's plan.
- Access: Users belong to an Organization but can have different roles assigned per Project.
- Data: Projects maintain unique monitoring data, competitors, and analytics.
Set up SSO with Google Workspace
Follow these steps to integrate Google Workspace:
- Create Credentials: In the Google Cloud Console, go to APIs & Services → Credentials → Create Credentials → OAuth client ID.
- Configure Client: Set Application type to Web application, name it
Ansehn SSO, and addhttps://www.ansehn.com/api/auth/sso/callbackto the Authorized redirect URIs. - Collect Details: Note the Client ID and Client Secret.
Configuration Summary:
- Issuer URL:
https://accounts.google.com - Client ID: Your OAuth Client ID
- Client Secret: Your OAuth Client Secret
