What's inside AlertFleet

  1. Overview of AlertFleet alerting capabilities

AlertFleet is a real-time alerting solution designed for automation system administrators to manage notifications across multiple channels. It allows users to trigger alerts via simple email or API calls and deliver those notifications through SMS, WhatsApp, Email, or Webhooks. It is commonly used for monitoring security events and smart home automation.
  2. Use the SMTP E-mail BOX for non-SSL/TLS systems

The SMTP E-mail BOX is designed for systems that do not support SSL/TLS for SMTP communication. To use this feature, you must have an active subscription plan that includes it. Note that there is a sending limit of 250 messages per 24-hour period.
  3. Send email alerts with AlertFleet

AlertFleet supports email as a notification channel. Each email alert consists of an alert message and an alert level (info, warning, or danger). The visual appearance of the email, such as the header, automatically adapts based on the selected alert level to indicate the severity of the notification.
  4. Create a Vantage Task to trigger AlertFleet alerts

To send an alert from the Vantage system, set up a Task procedure:

    1. In the Programming View, create a new Task.
    2. Use the Procedure Wizard to select the Send procedure.
    3. SMS Device: Select the configured AlertFleet driver instance.
    4. Phone Number: This field is used to specify the alert level. Use one of the following values: info, warning, or danger.
    5. Message: Enter the text message to be sent to the recipients defined in the driver instance.
  5. Install the AlertFleet Vantage driver in Design Center

There are two ways to import the driver into your DC project:

    Option 1: Using SNAPIN files

    1. Download the appropriate .snapin.xml files for your DC version.
    2. Paste the files into the ObjectRepository folder (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Vantage\InFusion Design Center [Version]\ObjectRepository).
    3. Open Design Center, select Drivers on the left, and click the "All Drivers" (yellow gear icon).
    4. Locate the AlertFleet driver in the Lifetronic folder and drag and drop it into the Area View.

    Option 2: Using Online Drivers

    1. Open Design Center and select Drivers on the left.
    2. Click the "All Drivers" (yellow gear icon) and enable "Show online drivers" (globe icon).
    3. Locate the AlertFleet driver in the Lifetronic folder and drag and drop it into the Area View.
  6. Trigger alerts using the AlertFleet Email source

AlertFleet allows you to trigger notifications by sending an email to a specific source address.

    Steps to configure:

    1. Log in to alertfleet.com.
    2. Use the 'Source E-mail Builder' page to generate your unique source email address.
    3. Configure the 'allowed sender e-mail' on the Subscription page; only emails from this verified address will be processed.
    4. Send an email to the generated address with the desired subject and a body containing the target recipients and message.
    To: send-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@send.alertfleet.com
    Subject: Info
    Body:
    [SMS:+393333333331,+393333333332]
    [WHATSAPP:+393333333331]
    [EMAIL:receiver1@sample.com]
    [WEBHOOK:POST|https%3A%2F%2Fsample.com%2Fhook1]
[MESSAGE: This is a sample notification message sent with AlertFleet]
  7. Retrieve your AlertFleet API Key

To send alerts via the API source, you must first obtain your API key from the AlertFleet dashboard:

    1. Log in to the AlertFleet website.
    2. Navigate to the Subscription page.
    3. Locate and copy the API Key value from the API Source section.
  8. Format a trigger e-mail for AlertFleet

Trigger e-mails require a specific recipient address, a valid subject, and a structured body containing recipient channels and the message.

Subject Requirements: Must be one of: info, warning, or danger.

    Body Requirements:

    • Must contain a [MESSAGE:] field (max 100 characters).
    • Must specify at least one recipient across supported channels.
    • Maximum of 5 recipients per channel.

    Supported Channels:

    • [SMS:number,number]
    • [WHATSAPP:number,number]
    • [EMAIL:email,email]
    • [WEBHOOK:METHOD|URL,METHOD|URL]
    To: send-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@send.alertfleet.com
    Subject: Info

    Body:
    [SMS:+393333333331,+393333333332]
    [WHATSAPP:+393333333331]
    [EMAIL:receiver1@sample.com]
    [WEBHOOK:POST|https%3A%2F%2Fsample.com%2Fhook1]

  9. Prerequisites for AlertFleet Vantage Infusion integration

To integrate Vantage Controls with AlertFleet, the following requirements must be met:

    1. An AlertFleet subscription plan with the API Source feature enabled.
    2. A Vantage Infusion Controller.
    3. Internet Connectivity: The controller must have correctly configured IP gateway and DNS settings to access the internet.

Note: In most cases, only a simple Update of the Vantage system is required to start the driver; a full Program is typically not necessary unless structural changes were made to the project.
