What's inside Maxar

  1. Overview of Seamlines WMTS

The Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) provides image tiles for the Maxar:seamline layer based on a pre-defined grid matrix. It supports zoom levels from 0 (lowest) to 21 (highest). Tiles are available in Geographic (EPSG:4326) and Web Mercator (EPSG:3857 and EPSG:900913) systems in both standard and 2X (Retina) resolutions.
  2. Overview of the Streaming - Imagery API

The Streaming - Imagery API provides RGB imagery and metadata for map-like interfaces and GIS software using Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards. It allows users to request display data showing one or more stacked image products.

Note: For seamless imagery base layers, use the Streaming - Basemaps API. For non-screen formatted imagery, use the Ordering API or Raster Analytics service.

  3. Overview of Basemaps WFS

The Streaming - Basemaps WFS service allows users to request metadata for basemaps imagery from the Streaming Imagery Geoserver. Basemap imagery is described using the FinishedFeature type. To target specific Vivid Mosaic basemap products, users must apply a CQL filter based on the productName.
  4. Overview of Maxar Discovery API

The Discovery API allows users to search for geospatial content based on defined criteria. All data served by the API follows the STAC (SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog) specification, representing geospatial features as GeoJSON features.
  5. Overview of the Online Ordering pipeline

The Online Ordering pipeline provides a streamlined way to order satellite imagery. The primary requirement is the acquisition ID of an image.

    Key Specifications:

    • Minimum AOI: 0.1 sq.km.
    • Format: Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF.
    • Processing: Dynamic Range Adjustment (DRA) is applied for standard visual 8-bit pixel values.
    • Projections: Delivered in the UTM projection that best fits the image or AOI.
    • Availability: Broadly available for imagery collected since 2024; older images may be available in high-interest areas.
    • Constraint: Only images found in the cloud-optimized-archive collection can be ordered.
  6. Overview of WorldView Tasking API

The Tasking API allows users to request data collection over a specific Area of Interest (AOI) within a defined time frame. The API supports the following product types:

    • WorldView 2D imagery products
    • WorldView 3D elevation products
    • WorldView Radar data (via Umbra)
  7. Overview of Maxar Web Map Tile Service (WMTS)

The Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) provides image tiles based on a pre-defined grid matrix. It supports zoom levels from 0 (lowest) to 21 (highest). The service renders the Maxar:Imagery layer and supports CQL Filter syntax to modify displayed contents.
  8. Overview of Account Services (Admin API)

The Account Services API allows account administrators to manage users and view account and activation information. These tasks can be performed via the Vantor Hub admin UI (https://account.maxar.com) or through direct API access. Access to these endpoints requires 'Admin' level permissions.
  9. Overview of the Streaming Search sample application

The Streaming Search sample application enables users to apply filters, search for imagery, and display results retrieved from the Streaming - Imagery API. Unlike the Discovery Search application which uses a STAC catalog, this application requests queries against OGC endpoints (WMS and WFS) to provide high-resolution satellite imagery. The app is built using Vue 3, Vuetify 3, Vite, and integrates a Leaflet map for visualization.
  10. Overview of Streaming Basemaps API

The Streaming Basemaps API provides OGC-compliant services for streaming Vivid Mosaic imagery and seamlines. Basemaps and seamlines are served from different endpoints. The API supports standard OGC services including WFS, WMS, and WMTS.
  11. Overview of Maxar Basemaps API and Vivid Mosaic Products

The Basemaps API provides high-quality, visually consistent Earth imagery via OGC-compliant services. It is primarily used for map contextual layers, large-scale feature extraction, and application visualization.

    Available Vivid Mosaic basemaps include:

    • Vivid Mosaic 15 cm: 15cm HD Product GSD, 5m CE90 accuracy, minimal clouds/shear, and committed image currency.
    • Vivid Mosaic 30 cm: Global imagery basemap with 30cm HD Product GSD and 5m CE90 accuracy, utilizing the most recent high-quality imagery available.
  12. Overview of Maxar Monitoring API endpoints

The Monitoring API (Base URL: https://api.maxar.com) allows users to create and manage monitors that trigger notifications when imagery matches specific criteria within a defined Area of Interest (AOI). Unlike auto-ordering monitors, these monitors only notify the user, allowing for selective ordering of images.
