What's inside ARC Raiders Data

  1. Overview of ARC Raiders Game Data

    main

This repository provides structured JSON data compiled from the ARC Raiders Tech Test 2. It is designed to be consumed by web applications and community tools (such as arctracker.io) to provide accurate information regarding game mechanics, items, and progression systems.

The available data includes structured JSON for:

    • Missions
    • Items
    • Skill Nodes
    • Hideout Modules
    • Projects
    • Traders
    • ARC

Note that item images provided in this repository are AI-upscaled versions of in-game screenshots.

  2. Set up the development environment for contributing

    main

To contribute to this data repository, you must first install the bun JavaScript toolkit. Follow these steps to set up your local environment:

    1. Fork the repository.
    2. Install dependencies using bun install.
    3. Make your data changes.
    4. Format the files using bun run format to ensure consistency.
    5. Submit a pull request with a clear description and relevant screenshots or references to verify the data accuracy.
    # Install dependencies
    bun install

    # Format files before submitting
    bun run format
  3. Global Prettier configuration settings

    main

The project uses a standard Prettier configuration for code formatting.

    Core Settings:

    • useTabs: false (uses spaces)
    • tabWidth: 2
    • trailingComma: "none"
    • singleQuote: false (uses double quotes)
    • printWidth: 80
    const config = {
      useTabs: false,
      tabWidth: 2,
      trailingComma: "none",
      singleQuote: false,
      printWidth: 80,
overrides: [...] // See JSON key sorting rules
    };
  4. Note on updating Prettier configuration in VSCode

    main

When modifying prettier.config.js, changes might not be picked up immediately by the VSCode Prettier extension.

    To apply changes:

    1. Restart your IDE (VSCode).
    2. Verify the configuration is being read by checking the 'OUTPUT' tab in VSCode and selecting 'Prettier' from the dropdown. This will confirm if the server is reading the new config or still using the old one.
  5. JSON key sorting rules for ARC Raiders data

    main

The project uses prettier-plugin-sort-json to enforce deterministic key ordering in JSON files. This ensures that data files remain consistent and minimizes git diff noise. The sorting is applied via Prettier overrides based on directory names or specific standalone filenames.

    Applied Sorting Rules

    Directories

    • items/: Sorts by id, name, description, type, rarity, foundIn, value, weightKg, stackSize, craftQuantity, isWeapon, questItem, compatibleWith, blueprintLocked, effects, craftBench, stationLevelRequired, craftSkills, recipe, recyclesInto, salvagesInto, upgradeCost, imageFilename, and updatedAt. Remaining keys are sorted using caseInsensitiveLexical.
    • hideout/: Sorts by id, name, maxLevel, and levels. Remaining keys use caseInsensitiveLexical.
    • quests/: Sorts by id, name, map, trader, requiredItemIds, otherRequirements, grantedItemIds, description, objectivesOneRound, objectives, rewardItemIds, xp, previousQuestIds, nextQuestIds, videoUrl, and updatedAt. Remaining keys use caseInsensitiveLexical.

    Standalone Files

    • bots.json: Sorts by id, name, type, threat, description, weakness, maps, destroyXp, lootXp, drops, and image.
    • maps.json: Sorts by id, name, and image.
    • projects.json: Sorts by id, disabled, name, description, and phases.
    • skillNodes.json: Sorts by id, name, category, isMajor, description, maxPoints, impactedSkill, knownValue, position, prerequisiteNodeIds, and iconName.
    • trades.json: Sorts by trader, itemId, quantity, cost, and dailyLimit.

All files use jsonRecursiveSort: true to ensure nested objects follow these rules.
