Understand TFAR Operation Modes
masterTFAR operates in two distinct modes depending on the gameplay requirements:
Lightweight Mode (Default)
Designed for cooperative (PvE) games.
- Behavior: Players can hear dead players, users not currently playing, or users on different servers/without the plugin (standard TeamSpeak behavior).
- In-game: Players on the same server with the plugin enabled will hear each other according to "radio laws" (frequency and distance).
Serious Mode
Designed for organized PvP matches.
- Setup: A TeamSpeak administrator must create a channel named
TaskForceRadiowith the password123. - Workflow:
- Players enable the plugin in TeamSpeak.
- Players join a side channel for briefing.
- As the mission loads, players are automatically forwarded to the
TaskForceRadiochannel.
- Behavior: Players hear only other live players who have TFAR enabled, are on the same server, and are on the same team. Dead players can only communicate among themselves. Upon respawn, players return to team-based restrictions.
- Cleanup: After the mission, players are transferred back to their original briefing channel.
