https://github.com/krishpranav/vesperA high-performance, Rust-based OSINT tool for professional username investigation across over 2000 platforms. Vesper 2.0.0 features async concurrency, Tor proxy support, automated headless Chrome screenshot capture, and structured reporting in JSON, CSV, TXT, and MD formats. It includes an interactive TUI dashboard, username variant generation, and the ability to rotate proxies to evade rate limiters.
To verify that the site configurations in the database are working correctly, use the --test flag. This runs built-in validation tests on the site definitions.
vesper --testYou can save scan results to various formats using the --output flag. vesper can automatically detect the format based on the file extension, or you can explicitly specify it using --format.
Supported formats:
jsoncsvtxtmd# Auto-detected by extension
vesper user --output report.json
vesper user --output results.csv
vesper user --output results.txt
# Explicitly overriding format
vesper user --output results --format csvvesper user --output report.jsonTo use vesper, you must have Rust 1.70+ installed. If you want to use the screenshot feature, you also need Chrome/Chromium (version 60+) installed on your system.
Clone the repository and use cargo to build the release binary:
git clone https://github.com/krishpranav/vesper
cd vesper
cargo build --releaseThe binary will be located at ./target/release/vesper.
To install vesper as a global command on your system:
cargo install --path .vesper supports automated browser actions for deeper investigation:
--screenshot to take headless Chrome screenshots of found profiles. Screenshots are saved to screenshots/<username>/.--download to download profile data from supported sites (e.g., Instagram).Note: Screenshotting automatically reduces the concurrent worker pool from 32 to 8 to manage resources.

vesper user --downloadvesper is used to investigate usernames across 2000+ social networks. You can scan a single username, multiple usernames, or read them from a file.

vesper --input usernames.txtTo perform scans anonymously, you can route traffic through a Tor proxy. This requires the Tor service to be running on your local machine at the default address 127.0.0.1:9050 (SOCKS5).
Use the --tor flag to enable this mode:
vesper user --torThe ScrapingStrategy enum allows you to tune how the scraper interacts with a target site:
Fast: Uses a default User-Agent and minimal overhead. Best for high-speed scanning when blocking is not a concern.Stealth: Rotates through a list of common browser User-Agents to appear more like a real user.AntiBlock: Used in adaptive workflows to handle rate limits or blocks by increasing caution.#[derive(Debug, Clone, Copy, PartialEq)]

}The vesper CLI is a professional OSINT tool used to investigate usernames across over 2000 social networks and websites. You can provide usernames directly as positional arguments, or use the --input flag to read them from a file.
Note: You must provide either positional usernames, the --input flag, the --test flag, or the --download flag.
# Scan specific usernames
vesper user1 user2 user3
# Scan usernames from a file
vesper --input usernames.txtVesper can scan one or more usernames against a database of sites. You can provide usernames as positional arguments or via an input file using the --input flag.
Key features during a scan include:
--variants flag expands base usernames into multiple variations.--tui flag enables a Terminal User Interface for real-time monitoring.--output <PATH> and --output-format <FORMAT> to save results.# Scan a single username

# Scan usernames from a file with variant generation

If you attempt to call screenshot_url without this feature, the call will return an error: Screenshot feature not enabled. Rebuild with --features screenshots.
To enable it, build or run your project with the following flag:
cargo build --features screenshotscargo build --features screenshots
