https://github.com/jonas-koeritz/taktische-zeichenA collection of standardized vector graphics (SVG) and raster images (PNG) representing tactical symbols for emergency and aid organizations. Designed for use in GIS software like QGIS and other digital mapping tools, the symbols are generated from Jinja2 templates using j2cli, Inkscape, and optipng.
What's inside Taktische-Zeichen

- SVG files must have dimensions of 256x256 units.
- All symbols must be centered within this area.
- Symbols for units, vehicles, persons, etc., must be perfectly aligned (deckungsgleich) with one another to ensure consistency when layered.

Build SVG and PNG files
masterYou can generate the symbol files using the provided Makefile.
To generate only the SVG files, you only need
j2cliinstalled. To generate PNG files, you will also needInkscapeandoptipngin your system path.# Generate only SVG files make svg # Generate only PNG files make png # Generate all SVG and PNG files in one step make all # Create a release zip archive make releasePrerequisites for building the symbols
masterTo run the build commands (especially for PNG generation), ensure the following tools are installed and available in your system's PATH:
j2cli: Required for generating SVG files from Jinja2 templates.Inkscape: Required for PNG generation.optipng: Required for PNG generation.
