Sharp7 Ethernet S7 PLC Communication Suite

Sharp7 is a multi-platform Ethernet S7 PLC communication suite (a C# port of the Snap7 library). It supports the following targets:

• S7 300/400/WinAC CPU: Fully supported.
• S7 1200/1500 CPU: Supported with specific protocol limitations (see S7 1200/1500 Notes).
• CP (Communication processor): Supports 343/443/IE.

When using Sharp7 to access an S7 1200 or S7 1500 CPU, the library uses the S7 'base' protocol. This allows the library to act as an HMI for basic data transfer.

Important Limitations:

• PG operations (control, directory, etc.) are not yet implemented for these CPUs.
• To access a Data Block (DB) in an S7 1500, you must apply the following settings on the PLC side:
  1. Global DBs only: Only global DBs can be accessed.
  2. Disable Optimized Access: The "Optimized block access" must be turned off for the DB.
  3. Access Level: The access level must be set to "full".
  4. Connection Mechanism: The connection mechanism must allow "GET/PUT".

You can install the Sharp7 package using the NuGet Package Manager Console or the dotnet CLI.
