  4. Troubleshooting DottedSign MCP Connection

    master

If you encounter issues connecting or using DottedSign MCP, check the following:

    • Connector won't add / URL rejected: Ensure the URL https://mcp.dottedsign.com/dottedsign-api/mcp is pasted exactly without any trailing spaces.
    • Authorization failed: Ensure you are already logged into DottedSign in the same browser session before attempting to authorize.
    • AI can't find a task: Try referring to the document by its specific name or verify the task exists in your DottedSign account.
    • Can't send a signing task: If you are on a DottedSign Free plan, you cannot create document templates (the Pro plan allows only one). Template-based sending requires a plan that supports template creation.
  5. Available DottedSign MCP Tools and Capabilities

    master

The DottedSign MCP server provides a set of tools that allow an AI assistant to perform eSignature workflows. The assistant calls these tools behind the scenes based on your natural language requests:

    • Get sign tasks list: List and filter your signing tasks.
    • Read sign task: Read and summarize a task's content and fields.
    • Get template list: Browse your saved templates.
    • Quick create a task: Create a task from a template.
    • Arrange the signing order: Set the sequence of signers.
    • Send task: Deliver the task to signers.
    • Void sign task: Cancel or void an existing task.

    Usage Tips:

    • Include the signer's name and email for routing.
    • Use the exact template name as it appears in DottedSign.
    • Refer to documents by name for status checks.
    • Use FieldSearchKey (field keywords) in templates to facilitate data mapping from other sources like CRMs.
